Mission of the People Operations Coordinator 

 

The People Operations Coordinator at Ascendus plays a pivotal role in managing payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, and onboarding processes to foster high-quality engagement among staff and volunteers. This position ensures seamless HR operations and supports the organization's mission by supporting the implementing effective HR strategies and maintaining compliance with HR standards. We seek an HR professional passionate about advancing our mission and adept at solving diverse HR challenges, dedicated to driving organizational success through effective people operations management. As a vital collaborator, you will directly report to Vice President of People Operations.   

 

Key Outcomes 

The People Operations Coordinator will champion the timely and precise execution of the following: 

 

Human Resource Records and Administration (50%) 

  • Collaborate with our finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll. 

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. 

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations. 

  • Support employees with HR-related concerns and issues.   

  • Prepares and maintains the employee handbook. 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.  

 

Recruitment and Retention (30%)  

  • Responsible for recruitment initiatives. 

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation process. 

  • Foster positive employee relations and provide support throughout the employee lifecycle.   

 

Training and Offsite (20%) 

  • Facilitate internal training sessions that address staff and organizational development needs. 

  • Monitor reports, maintaining key HR metrics and dashboards and identify training opportunities as they arise.   

  • Coordination of the yearly all staff off-site.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, sociology, or related area of study  

  • 2-3 years of Human Resource related experience  

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills 

  • Ability to work remotely and overtime when required.

  • Competitive salary depending on experience.
