JOB TITLE: Special Projects Manager
REPORTS TO: Senior Director
SUPERVISES: Interns
STATUS: Exempt, full-time
SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $65,000
OVERVIEW: The Special Projects Manager plans and executes projects. Currently the primary project that the Special Projects Manager will lead is the MASS Collaboration, a federally funded collaborative project between BARCC, the Boston Center for Independent Living, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and the MBTA Transit Police to improve response and services for survivors with disabilities. The Project Manager will manage the grant, facilitate meetings, develop curricula and resources, manage the project budget, and ensure completion of all grant deliverables. Additionally, the Project Manager will participate in outreach and training activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management 40%
Plan and oversee all aspects of special projects
Create and manage project workflows ensuring completion of all deliverables by deadlines
Monitor project development and make adjustments to projects as needed
Evaluate and continuously improve project processes
Develop and manage project budget
Diplomatically manage relationships with partner agencies
Communicates and reports to funder and grant technical assistance provider
Manage and complete grant reporting requirements
Develop and manage vendor and consultant contracts
Facilitation, Training, and Outreach 30%
Plan and facilitate collaboration meetings ensuring that collaboration meetings are accessible and inclusive to all participants
Facilitate meeting ensuring collaboration values are upheld and decisions are made by consensus
Deliver trainings to raise awareness about sexual violence and prevention of sexual violence
Outreach to communities and organizations in BARCC’s service area
Product Development 30%
Write, design and develop a wide-range of products for internal and external use such as curricula, resource manuals, videos, policies, fact sheets etc in collaboration with BARCC staff and partner agencies
QUALIFICATIONS:
Passion and commitment for BARCC’s vision, mission and values
3-5 years project management experience
3-5 year experience managing grant-funded projects or programs
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects
Ability to evaluate, adapt and make shifts to project direction when needed
Project management style that is inclusive, collaborative, deadline-driven, yet flexible
Participatory leadership style that is able to build consensus
Able to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and balance multiple perspectives/needs
Superior facilitation and training skills that is inclusive of a wide range of communication and learning styles
Knowledgeable about adult learning theory and universal training design
Able to create materials specific to varying audiences, including ability to convey information in plain language
Demonstrated record of taking products from concept to execution
Enthusiasm for working on and learning about a wide range of topics
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Proficiency in google doc and slides; Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and PDF
Knowledge about ableism and accessibility preferred
Knowledge about sexual violence and especially the issue of sexual violence against people with disabilities preferred
