JOB TITLE: Bilingual Clinician (Spanish Speaking)

REPORTS TO: Director of Clinical Program & Senior Bilingual Managing Clinician

 

SUPERVISES: Volunteers and Interns

 

OVERVIEW: Provide high-quality bilingual clinical care to clients at BARCC and at collaborating agencies, in alignment with BARCC’s mission and philosophy.

 

STATUS: Exempt, 32 hours

 

SALARY RANGE:   $60,000-$80,000 annual

 

LOCATION: 99 Bishop Allen, Cambridge 

 

About BARCC: 

Founded in 1973, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is the oldest and largest rape crisis center in New England, serving as the only comprehensive center in the Greater Boston area. Our mission is to end sexual violence through healing, empowerment, and social change. BARCC provides free, confidential support and services to survivors of sexual violence aged 12 and up, and their family and friends. We serve survivors of all genders, empowering them to heal and seek justice in ways that are meaningful to them. Our support extends from immediate crisis intervention to long-term assistance, helping survivors navigate health care, legal, social service and educational systems. We serve a diverse population across 29 cities and towns in the Greater Boston area, reaching approximately 1.3 million people.

      

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:

Counseling:

  • Provide intakes, crisis intervention, short-term individual, couples, and family counseling services to BARCC clients at BARCC’s  Cambridge.
  • Develop, revise, and facilitate on and off-site groups. 

  • Conduct client sessions during evening hours two nights per week.

  • Maintain accurate records of services provided to and on behalf of clients.

  • Ensure that records are completed in a timely manner and comply with BARCC’s record-keeping guidelines

Supervisory and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other client services staff on cases requiring multidisciplinary services.

  • Work with supervisor on program improvements and new program development.

  • Provide clinical support and education to volunteers and interns.

  • Observe, track, and communicate client feedback and needs (community response, feedback from allied organizations, client quotes, etc.) that explain the impact and needs of program services to supervisor at least once per year.

Other Responsiblities:

  • Attend and participate in developmental, organization-wide, and other meetings.
  • Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect.

  • Provide bilingual affidavits for immigration cases when necessary

  • Review affidavits for immigration cases for other clinicians.

  • Participate in the Spanish main-line call tree

  • Perform other duties as needed or directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English is required.

  • Must be license-eligible LICSW or LMHC in Massachusetts.

  • Current LICSW, LMHC, or licensed psychologist in Massachusetts, preferred.

  • At least 2 years of related direct clinical service experience preferred.

  • Experience working directly with survivors of sexual violence preferred.
