Position Objective |
Provide mentoring and professional development to EEWD participants to increase high-quality learning experiences for children ages 0-5.
|
Education, Experience, Qualifications |
Education and Experience (Essential)
- BS in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Experience as an early childhood teacher in a licensed childcare program
- Computer literate
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Experience conducting classroom and child assessments
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, positive guidance techniques, and high-quality early childhood education
Education and Experience (Desired)
- MS in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Teaching or administrative experience in childcare settings
- Experience managing projects
- Experience mentoring/coaching early childhood teachers
- Experience providing professional development to early childhood teachers in licensed childcare programs
- Experience teaching infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare program
Essential Functions
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
Must have transportation and the ability to visit childcare programs participating in CF programs.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities |
The following duties and responsibilities are required for this position.
|
Program or Project Operations |
- Represent CF’s EEWD team as a content area expert by providing mentoring and teaching early childhood teachers
- Implement program delivery of CF’s mentoring model
- Teach Child Development Associate Credential courses
- Teach quarterly workshops to support EEWD department goals
- Manage case load of childcare facilities to improve and maintain quality standards
- Work with Camp Fire staff and childcare professionals to identify, plan, and implement professional development/mentoring and support activities.
- Execute any/all contracts following funder guidelines, and review and assess implementation of contract(s) as assigned.
- Interpret, define, and communicate purpose, benefits, and goals of Camp Fire’s professional development programs to childcare community.
- Monitor program quality through outcome measurement and customer feedback and facilitate needed program improvements.
- Make program adjustments based on knowledge, needs experts, and internal evaluations
- Mentor early care and education professionals to identify, plan and implement strategies that promote high quality early childhood classrooms.
- Foster communication and coordination between early care and education professionals and parents to support family engagement
- Assist with program evaluation activities
- Assist in communicating, marketing, and developing strategies for implementing program goals

Marketing & Communication: |
- Participate in and serve on community boards and organizations as assigned.
- Develop relationships with local, regional, and state professionals and serve as a leader in the early childhood field representing CF as a content area expert.
- Communicate and promote CF professional development offerings to community members

- Workplace Learning Specialists impact the early childhood education field by sharing their knowledge of early care and education principles, practices, and trends in the field through professional development and mentoring.
- Workplace Learning Specialists support the use of developmentally appropriate practices for children birth through 5 years of age, Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines, and Infant, Toddler and age three Guidelines, Texas’ Minimum Standards for childcare centers
