The Office of Development is driven to advance the mission and vision of Carondelet High School by building and sustaining a culture of philanthropy characterized by generous, broad-based giving and meaningful volunteer engagement.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Development and in collaboration with the Development and Engagement Teams, the Development and Alumnae Relations Manager organizes and implements a robust and impactful portion of Carondelet’s annual and special initiatives fundraising efforts. Emphasis is placed on executing strong annual campaigns that form the base upon which to grow long-term donor and volunteer support. Specifically, the Development Manager is responsible for gift solicitation, donor prospecting, gift acknowledgement, gift reporting, and stewarding donors and volunteers.
In addition, the Development Manager is responsible for implementing Carondelet’s alumnae relations strategy designed to serve the entire Carondelet family by deepening alumnae engagement in the life of the School and working to ensure vitality and future success for Carondelet. They co-manage the Alumnae Association Board and direct, plan, prepare, and monitor alumnae activities, events, and programs.
Essential Functions
Development

Lives the mission of the school, in the CSJ tradition, through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the mission, vision, and values of Carondelet High School.

With the Director of Development, articulates the case for annual gift support and implements a communications program to educate and motivate donors in a personal portfolio and the alumnae constituency.

Recommends Annual Giving campaign strategy and goals vis a vis alumnae support.

Manages calendars and action plans for each annual giving initiative for which they are responsible, including direct mail appeals, phone appeals, class reunion gifts, and event sponsorships.

Manages a prospect pool of alumnae with annual goals for personal visits and giving outcomes.

Recommends policies and procedures for recognizing and stewarding donors and volunteers. Coordinates implementation of the approved policies and procedures.

Ensures the accurate and timely acknowledgement of gifts to Carondelet.

Collaborates with the Athletics Director on the solicitation and recognition of sponsors for Athletics programs.

Manages the development events sponsorship program including solicitation of sponsors, communication with sponsors and tracks event attendance and other sponsor benefits.
Alumnae Relations

Serve as a representative of Carondelet High School to the alumnae population with the specific charge to excite and motivate alumnae to deepen their connection to the institution and to promote alumnae investment—via volunteerism and philanthropy—in the School.

In collaboration with MarCom, prepares all alumnae communications including quarterly newsletter, alumnae stories, email outreach, Carondeletter alumnae pages, and collaborates on appeals.

Partner in leadership of the alumnae board including responsibilities, expected outcomes, project management and creates meeting agendas in partnership with the board chair and alumnae relations colleagues.

Engage alumnae and alumnae constituencies on a regular basis, via email, phone, events, or face-to-face meetings.

Manage and implement a comprehensive alumnae relations program that builds alumnae involvement and support.

Manage and implement short- and long-term goals associated with alumnae events, activities, and programs and communicate their progress.

Create and manage a comprehensive 5-year anniversary (reunion) program. Partner with Carondelet’s alumni counterpart (De La Salle) to partner for maximum efficacy.

Utilize the Development database to provide up-to-date information on the School’s alumnae and to facilitate more productive and frequent contact.

Attend all Alumnae, Development, and Engagement events, as assigned, as a representative of the institution.

Participate in Development, Engagement, and MarCom planning initiatives as appropriate.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
-
Five years of successful fundraising experience; experience in an educational environment preferred

Demonstrated record of working collaboratively and fostering a commitment to teamwork

Strong managerial, leadership, and project management necessary

Exemplary oral and written communication skills required

Demonstrated ability to provide direction and motivation to fellow staff and volunteers

Demonstrated analytical and fundraising skills with the ability to recognize opportunities, identify critical, high pay-off activities and prioritize them to attain goals

Skill and understanding of computer and constituent software including database management, gift processing, and prospect management
-
Ability to listen carefully to understand constituents’ needs, both internally and externally, and proactively respond to those needs in a consistent and timely manner

Openness to new ideas and their implementation
