The
Manufacturing Quality Leader is responsible for developing and maintaining the
processes and systems required to continuously improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify
quality issues, establish containment, and develop and implement
countermeasures which could include a design change, a modification of a
supplier part, or an in-house adjustment
- Develop testing and procedure methods for quality verification by applying measures, sampling methods, testing methodology, and other procedures to ensure quality standards are met
- Ensure suppliers' parts meet specifications and provide direction on required changes to processes and procedures to improve/guarantee part conformance to specifications and work with suppliers to ensure resolution of any quality and/or tooling concerns
- Develop and maintain the company’s quality management system to track defects and prioritize resource allocation
- Develop and implement standardized design criteria across all product lines to ensure that new products are designed considering best-in-class quality
The
Manufacturing Quality Leader will report directly to the Chief Engineer. He/she will work with Production management, the
Purchasing/SCM manager, and the Controller to ensure all quality metrics are
achieved.
Candidates must have work-related experience in a complex manufacturing sector of the automotive industry with increasing responsibility over time. He/she must also have a demonstrable knowledge of all automotive systems present in modern cars, and a minimum combined level of education and experience:
- Associate's degree and/or high school
diploma with 8 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree of science with 5 years of experience
- Master’s degree of science with 3 years of experience
Within the above
timeframe the candidate must have held a manufacturing quality-focused
leadership role for at least one year and must have documented completion of one or more of the following types of
training: Auditing, lean manufacturing,
quality management, Six Sigma, statistical process control, supplier quality
