The Position

The Associate, SCADA & Operations will be responsible for coordinating the SCADA, Networking, and Remote Operations programs at Arevon. The role will be part of the Asset Management and Operations team and will report directly to the Manager, SCADA & Operations. The Associate, SCADA & Operations will work diligently to maximize system output by coordinating with various teams within Arevon, including but not limited to, the Performance Engineering team, Asset Management team, Procurement team, and others.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

· Coordinate efforts towards procurement of SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Power Plant Controls (PPC), Site Networks, and Internet Service Providers (ISP) towards upcoming standalone PV, PV+ Energy Storage, and standalone energy storage (ESS) projects.

· Perform technical due diligence towards upcoming technologies in energy storage and plant control systems.

· Work closely with the transmission service provider and ISO towards understanding interconnection requirements for individual projects.

· Review SCADA technology selections, design drawings, screens, and control logic.

· Act as an SME to develop a robust and reliable control methodology for assets and provide support to various teams within Arevon when necessary.

· Coordinate with ISOs, Transmission Operators, PPA counterparts, and other equivalent entities for all tasks from mechanical completion to O&M turnover.

· Coordinate the SCADA, Network, ISP, and Operations Vendors during O&M turnover and throughout the O&M phase of the project.

· Lead the efforts to troubleshoot connectivity, data, and control issues.

· Draft key exhibits towards standardizing functional and technical requirements related to project controls.

· Draft key exhibits towards standardizing functional and technical requirements related to project controls.

· Assist in the development of Arevon remote monitoring and reporting tools.

· Ensure that every project is compliant with requirements stated by NERC, WECC, and the interconnection facility.

· Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Manager, SCADA & Operations

Qualifications

· 1-2 years of experience preferred; exceptional entry-level candidates will be considered.

· Strong working knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical systems as related to utility-scale solar plants and battery energy storage systems

· Experience in dealing with control systems and communication infrastructures related to automation

· Prior understanding of the operation of hybrid generating assets (i.e., PV + BESS)

· Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical explanations

· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others in all situations

· Work within a project team, as well as analyze, troubleshoot, and prioritize problems independently

· Strong analytical and quantitative skills

· Understand safety principles, to safely work on equipment
