The Position

Job Description
This critical position will report to the Sr. Director of Construction, and work in tandem with the Asset Management, Procurement, Development, and Construction teams to provide safety leadership and serve as the subject matter expert with regard to health and safety procedures, compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in renewable energy along with relevant experience and an education in a related field. They have a solid track record of teamwork and enjoy working on a dynamic and diverse team. They possess the technical skills required and have a background in safety engineering, construction, or project management. They desire the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and thrive in an environment that requires flexibility and adaptation to constant change, shifting demands, and moving timelines. Strengths include organization, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines for various internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
· Work closely with Arevon executives to cultivate the Arevon safety culture.
· Review and report on the safety culture of Arevon’s EPC and O&M partners.
· Conduct site audits of in-construction and operating renewable energy projects.
· Review EPC and Operation and Maintenance partners’ safety programs to ensure compliance with Arevon policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
· Appraise new safety guidelines or regulations and implement compliance means as they pertain to Arevon’s business operations.
· Develop and manage the health and safety policies and procedures for sites that are operating and under construction.
· Create initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents of EPC and Operation and Maintenance partners at Arevon’s project sites.
· Monitor and document the effectiveness of safety control measures used across Arevon’s portfolio of in-construction and operating projects.
· Provide appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for managers, supervisors, and other Arevon employees as required.
· Assist management in the inspection of workplaces to ensure safe and healthy conditions.
· Prepare reports for various stakeholders which demonstrate trends, patterns, and predictions.
· If and when necessary assist in the requesting and hiring of additional safety personnel.
Requirements
· Can be located in Scottsdale office or remote.
· Ability to travel (anticipated at least 50%).
· Successful completion of OSHA course #510.
· Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
· Possession of current OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer Card or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
· Strong organizational and proven leadership skills.
· Ability to implement behavioral-based techniques to help improve safety performance.
· Capacity to establish strong, positive, trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Deep familiarity with OSHA and CalOSHA regulations/requirements.
· Track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures.
· Ability to research facts and data from internal or external sources and help determine root causes.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and associated products (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Power BI, etc.).
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks effectively, and work efficiently.
Education Requirements
4-year degree from an accredited university in occupational safety, engineering management, construction management, or similar discipline or 10+ years of construction safety experience with a preference for an electrical or heavy construction background.
