The Position

Arevon is looking for a Senior Manager, Origination to help secure offtake agreements for the company’s utility-scale renewable and battery storage projects. The Senior Manager, Origination will report to the Vice President, Origination. 

Responsibilities

• Originate wholesale transactions for capacity, energy, and RECs with IOUs, CCAs, municipals, cooperatives, ESPs, and large corporates in the Western Interconnect, with a focus on California.

• Maintain presence with key customers in regions where the company has significant operating assets and forge new relationships in regions where the company has generation under development.

• Respond to request for proposals (RFPs) and find bilateral opportunities for the company’s projects.

• Work collaboratively with development, asset management, finance investment, interconnection, and procurement teams to price and structure products.

• Support negotiations for long-term offtake agreements.

• Manage third-party consultants providing long-term market forecasts, determine key insights from forecasts, and distribute to internal stakeholders on the Finance and Investment teams.

• Assess customer needs, State and Federal policies, and market structures to provide perspective of ideal regions and /or counterparties to target for future development of projects or investments.

• Attend industry conferences to network with new and existing customers.

Qualifications and Characteristics

• Must have a minimum of five years of utility-scale solar and/or storage origination experience in the Western Interconnect
• Must be able to demonstrate existing relationships with target customers.
• Must have a solid understanding of energy/renewable/capacity products, relevant market. structures and regulatory/legislative policies, transmission, and congestion.
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Possession of excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform data-driven analysis and synthesize results to create compelling presentations.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Ability to travel (domestically) up to 40% of the time.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build a coalition of support across various groups within and outside of the company.
• Possess an eye for detail and the desire for continuous process improvement.
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a Business or Engineering discipline.
