The Position


Arevon is recruiting for the position of RTO Policy Analyst, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries of the 21st century. The RTO Policy Analyst will report to the Vice President of Government Affairs and Marketing and coordinate closely with the Director of Interconnection.


 Responsibilities

·         Attend in-person and virtual meetings of multiple regional transmission organizations (RTOs)

·         Participate in regional/state-based trade associations for group conversations about RTO policies

·         Understand wholesale energy markets, key RTO terminology, and the interconnection process (both the RTO’s and transmission owner’s responsibilities)

·         Concisely summarize key takeaways from RTO stakeholder meetings and trade association calls

·         Describe specific issues and provide relevant reasoning as to why it is important for Arevon’s portfolio

·         Translate complex topics into simple, persuasive terms, highlighting critical issues for diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations

·         Provide logical insights supported with strong pattern-recognition and critical reasoning

·         As appropriate and requested, foster and maintain relationships and project communications with key policymakers and decision-makers

·         Work with internal teams (Development, Commercial) to identify the policy analysis needs and determine the impacts of potential RTO policy changes on Arevon’s business


Qualifications and Characteristics


·         A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent education, training and experience in Economics, Public Policy, Energy Policy, Electrical Engineering, or related field

·         Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

·         Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams

·         Knowledge of one or more regional transmission organizations (e.g., CAISO, MISO, PJM), their interconnection policies, and any renewables-specific or storage-specific initiatives are a bonus

·         Experience in analyzing and communicating complex concepts to team members who work in various disciplines

·         Ability to travel (domestically) up to 20% of the time

·         Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities daily

·         Possess an eye for detail and the desire for continuous process improvement

·         Ability to work with team members in different locations around the country

·         Ability to influence others without direct authority

·         Ability to quickly assimilate new information and exercise sound judgment
