The Position
Arevon is recruiting for the position of Senior Accountant, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century. Reporting to the General Ledger Senior Manager, the Senior Accountant will perform a wide range of accounting duties as part of the team and autonomously within the Finance and Accounting team. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to:· Accountable to ensure compliance with various controls, corporate policies and statutory requirements in areas of responsibility
· Work with counterparts to ensure consistency among processes and support operations
· Assist in audits and interface with external auditors and tax compliance professionals
· Responsible for the timely completion of month end, quarter end and annual financial close
· Prepare journal entries and ensure proper general ledger coding in support of monthly closings
· Review complex contracts
· Set up and maintain budgets and cost structures in the accounting software
· Assist in preparation and distribution to financing parties of monthly operating and finance reports
· Willing to travel and work early or late hours as required to support operations in multiple time zones (New York, London, Abu Dhabi, etc.)
· Ability to work autonomously with little supervision while continuously ensuring alignment of objectives
· Other projects as assigned
Experience Requirements
· Combination of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in an accounting department with relevant experience; superior academic performance in lieu of work experience will be considered
· Experience in a nationally ranked public accounting firm is preferred
· Proven track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures, experience in shared services center environment is helpful
· Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
· Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
· Proficient on MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.
· Strong working knowledge of NetSuite and related accounting information systems, or related applications in a construction environment preferred
Education RequirementStrong academic performance from a major institution is required
Minimum BS/BA in Accountancy or Finance
