Position Summary 

Georgia Audubon is seeking a college intern with basic bookkeeping and QuickBooks skills to assist the Director of Finance & Administration. An Accounting or Finance major is preferred. Qualified candidates will have strong organizational skills, and a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Required skills include proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, and Google Workspace. Additional requirements are to have at least some experience in facilitating qualitative and quantitative assessments of financial data and an understanding of financial reporting. A strong appreciation for and interest in nature is preferred but not required.


The Finance Intern will assist the Director of Finance & Administration with accounting and small-business activities. With a rapidly growing organization, a high priority for the Finance Intern will be to work closely with the Director of Finance & Administration to evolve and improve current systems to be more efficient and informative. This person will process Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and perform reconciliation duties as needed. Assistance in the budget process for Fiscal Year 2024 and various other projects will also be expected.


Position Duties 

             Process accounting transactions including invoicing, accounts payable, bank deposits, donations, collections, and cash receipts.

             Assist with the budget.

             Help to update employee manual and company policies.

             Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance & Administration.

             Timely and accurate posting to QuickBooks Online.

             Enthusiastically promote the mission and vision of Georgia Audubon.

 

Position Qualifications 

             Must be 18 years of age or older.

             Must be able to legally work in the US and willing to undergo a background check.

             Must have completed some college with a major in business, accounting, or finance; 3.5GPA or higher.

             Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office a must.

             Highly organized and able to juggle multiple demands in a dynamic and growing organization.

             Demonstrated capacity as a systems thinker while operating with excellence in mind in all matters.

             Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humor. Customer service oriented.

             This is a hybrid position. Must be able to work in the office 1-2 days per week as needed. Georgia Audubon is located at 825 Warner St SW, Ste B, Atlanta, GA 30310.

Status, Pay & Benefits 

The successful candidate will be hired as a part-time, 15-20 hours per week paid intern. Pay will be commensurate with experience in the range of $10-12 per hour. The duration of this internship will be 6 months. This position is not eligible for benefits or paid leave.
