Measures for Justice is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to developing tools and services that help communities, including the institutions that serve them, reshape how the criminal justice system works. Since 2011, we have been collecting, standardizing, and publishing criminal justice data to increase transparency, accessibility, and accountability. We’re leading a movement to change the future of criminal justice.

 

Role Overview

As a Community Partner Engagement Intern at Measures for Justice, you will partner with our engagement team to launch our nationwide Let’s Be Clear campaign across all 50 states. You will conduct local community research, assist with event planning and facilitation, and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the campaign. Through your support, you will help Measures for Justice demonstrate the power of data in telling real stories within the criminal justice system.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Help manage information gathered from Eventbrite, including registrations, reminders, and guest list management.

  • Correspond with external partners regarding event details and resource distribution.

  • Provide regular updates to internal teams as requested to ensure alignment.

  • Assist event leaders during event facilitation, ensuring smooth execution and attendee satisfaction.

  • Send emails thanking attendees for their attendance to ensure continued partner engagement and cultivation.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias.

 

Your Experience

  • Experience playing a role in the success of a team, group, and/or project

  • Background organizing and executing successful events

  • Proven organizational, detail orientation, and time-management skills

  • Comfortable collaborating with team members and stakeholders to achieve common goals

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Passionate about criminal justice, social justice, and/or film with social impact

 

Bonus Points

  • Previous experience organizing meetings with diverse stakeholders
