Primergy Solar, LLC is a developer, owner and operator focused on both distributed and utility scale solar PV and battery storage projects in North America. It is currently managing and progressing a significant portfolio of operational and development stage solar+ battery storage projects. Primergy Solar is a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and represents Quinbrook’s principal solar and solar plus energy storage investment platform in North America.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Portfolio Management, the Finance Associate will assist in developing financial models for project financing, portfolio modeling, and quarterly valuations. The Finance Associate will work closely with several members of the Primergy teams, including Project Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Development, Operations, and Analytics, to gather inputs for these models. In addition to internal responsibilities, this role requires close collaboration with the Quinbrook team and our external advisors. The successful candidate must have experience and a comprehensive understanding of the North American renewable energy capital markets and tax equity financing structures.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Build and maintain financial models to support project financing, portfolio updates, and quarterly valuations. Ensure the accuracy and correct incorporation of relevant inputs into these models.
  • Gather and prepare financial models by coordinating closely with multiple internal teams.
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with internal team members and external advisors to develop and maintain project financing models, including terms from tax equity, construction debt, term debt, etc.
  • Collect data on capital market trends and recent M&A transactions to conduct benchmarking analysis.
  • Create and support internal and external presentations and reports on financing and portfolio model updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the renewable energy and financial communities.
  • Demonstrate high energy and a results-driven attitude with a strong teamwork focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel approximately 20% is required, including quarterly visits to Primergy HQ.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy modeling and finance.
  • 2+ years experience with project development and financing.
  • Extensive experience in building detailed renewable energy financial models, specifically related to power generation and tax equity.
  • Experience performing investment and quantitative analyses, ideally in the Renewable Energy, Power, or Infrastructure sectors at a developer, fund, bank, or consultancy.
  • Curiosity and willingness to tackle any challenge are essential.
