Role and Responsibilities

Primergy is seeking a Sr. Manager, Performance Engineering to join our Technical Operations Department reporting to our Vice President, Asset Management. This role will oversee the ownership of sites, portfolio performance and all associated infrastructure, digital tools, data flows, partners, and visualization/reporting. This role will have a direct input in crafting the overall performance strategy for the operating assets within the organization and define the technical critical processes, systems, and tools that will allow the overall group to drive the highest value/MWh possible across all our operating renewable energy assets.

The Sr. Manager, Performance Engineering will have direct oversite and responsibility for all performance engineering and digital activities associated with operating assets. You will develop and lead fleetwide processes, strategy and direction while overseeing the development and implementation of all technical processes and procedures relating to performance. This role is responsible for the technical investment decisions that will enable the broader organization to deliver on its commercial and operational objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Ensure successful portfolio performance management of operating assets for PV and BESS
  • Create, complete and/or directly oversee all performance reporting activities
  • Maintain energy models for PV and BESS projects
  • Interface with commercial team to support company needs related to performance modeling
  • Lead development of performance processes that can be documented to drive operational improvement 
  • Review technical documents and test results to validate actual PV and/or BESS performance
  • Develop and publish operational reports with relevant KPIs
  • Identify and quantify performance shortfalls, necessary improvements, and work with onsite teams for resolution implementation
  • Support of PV and BESS performance testing


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical Engineering or Mathematical Science required (Master’s preferred)
  • 5 years of experience working in solar performance engineering
  • Experience performing data analysis to improve fleet performance and reliability
  • Experience driving the identification and resolution of product failures; working to optimize plant performance and directing performance projects with O&M and LTSA providers
  • Knowledge of monitoring and communications protocols, substation equipment and utility meters, battery backup systems and inverters, SCADA and MET station equipment
  • Success in building and delivering on Performance and Engineering functions relating to operating PV and BESS projects
  • Experience with industry standard PV modeling software
  • Proficient in understanding asset design documentation, PV performance modelling and analysis
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and 3rd party asset management software platforms
  • Management of technical contract scopes and partnerships with third-party providers

·    Ability to quickly step into new tasks and adapt to new circumstances in a dynamic environment.

·    Willingness to work extended hours, when necessary
