ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Project Finance Analyst position is responsible for managing the analysis of various financing options for projects under development and potential future projects.
· Owning and updating excel models for the financial review of renewable energy projects
· Researching renewable energy programs across multiple States
· Writing reports on renewable energy programs
· Analyzing current and past financial data and performance
· Preparing reports and projections based on this analysis
· Evaluating current capital expenditures and depreciation
· Exploring investment opportunities
· Establishing and evaluating profit plans
· Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
· Monitor regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects
· Conduct desktop searches for potential project sites using Google Earth
· Establish and maintain a site selection database
· Conduct outreach to landowners via mailers and/or phone calls.
· Assist with acquisition of options, leases, and easements with landowners
· Identify risks and corresponding mitigation strategies associated with transaction structures, title matters, and environmental conditions.
· Assist in developing a proactive client acquisition strategy
· Manage preparation of the real property component of development projects for financing by clearing interfering title matters, commissioning Phase I Environmental reports and ALTA Surveys
· Conduct preliminary permitting screening of sites with local jurisdictions and support the early stages of project permitting
· Analyze energy data and utility rates
· Generate, manage, and report project specific budgets and schedules
· Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
COMMUNICATION QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred with a focus on business, economics, finance, or related industries
· Minimum of two years professional responsibility in finance, health care, banking, or other related industry; or internship experience to the equivalent
· Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
· Strong contract modeling software skills
· Robust skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel
· Understands and demonstrates abilities to utilize Macros in Excel
· Ability to meet project objectives within designated constraints
· Willingness to work projects to completion
· Market and financial analysis
