Primergy is a developer, owner and operator focused on both distributed and utility scale solar PV and battery storage projects in North America. It is currently managing and progressing a significant portfolio of operational and development stage solar+ battery storage projects. We are seeking a motivated and analytical Intern to join our dynamic solar power development team. This internship offers hands-on experience in portfolio management within the renewable energy sector, providing valuable insights into the financial aspects of solar project development, management, and operations. 

This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of portfolio management in the solar & storage generation renewable sector, preparing you for a successful career in renewable energy finance. 

 

What you will do as the Finance Intern: 

The goal of the Finance Internship is for the individual to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy projects while being part of a dynamic team.  

The Portfolio Management team sits within the Finance team at Primergy, with responsibilities that include developing financial models for project financing, portfolio modeling, and quarterly valuations. The team works closely with several Primergy teams, including Project Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Project Development. 

The Finance Intern will help with day-to-day operations, tasks, and analysis. The intern will also gain exposure to more complex tasks such as Project and Portfolio level Modelling as well as Portfolio Management and Reporting. Some responsibilities include: 

  • Portfolio Management: Assist with preparing financial presentations for management meetings. Support the preparation of Quarterly reports for Management review. 

  • Data Management: Help maintain and update financial models, databases, and tracking systems.  

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Assist in gathering relevant data to support strategic initiatives or business planning.  

What you bring to the table: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field. 

  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel (ideally financial modeling or large data set analysis). 

  • Working knowledge of one or more programming languages, including SQL, VBA, or Python. 

  • Basic understanding of the renewable energy industry. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently. 

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
