Financial Controller Overview


TapRm is seeking to hire an organized, detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our growing team as its Financial Controller, who would assist in strengthening and developing our internal accounting and financial standards to match our operational and technological excellence across the US. Due to the nature of our high-growth environment, the Financial Controller’s projects can vary day-to-day within the realms of accounting and finance. The ideal candidate would be an individual who relishes the opportunity to dive into new challenges and learn new skills along the way. This position will serve as the leader of TapRm’s internal accounting team and would report directly to TapRm’s Chief Financial Officer. Key Responsibilities Include

- Lead the company-wide accounting operations of a dynamic, fast-growingp disrupting the alcohol industry

- Develop, improve and evolve TapRm’s financial processes and controls that the company will adopt and follow to ensure efficient, detailed and accurate recordkeeping and financial reporting

- Assume responsibility for month-end and year-end close exercises and the preparation of internal and external financial statements, at first by managing contracted bookkeepers and internal AR/AP personnel and eventually by managing future internal hires

- Play the primary role in working with external parties to coordinate future audits and valuations, and preparing materials or responses to inquiries regarding accounting, financial and tax practices

- Oversee the rolling forward of the company’s internal and external financial projections based on actual performance, analyze variance between budgeted figures and actuals, and collect insight to advise on model improvements and impacts that the new figures could have on

- Ensure compliance and keep current industry-specific submissions such as excise taxes, bottle deposits and sales taxes, along with working in conjunction with management and outside tax counsel to ensure compliance on any legal and regulatory filings where applicable

- Oversee maintenance of the Company’s capitalization table and ensure completeness and accuracy of exhibits used in fundraising processes and investor communications

- Maintain up-to-date and extensive backup and documentation for accounting processes performed and financial control policies in place in accordance with U.S. GAAP

 

Ideal Candidate's Experience & Qualifications

- Graduated with a BA/BS from an accredited university with an excellent track record

- Current CPA Certification

- 3+ years working experience as a Financial Controller and an additional 2+ years working in an accounting capacity for a CPA, at a company with similar maturity and complexity to TapRm (multiple business lines with online and physical components and subject to ever-evolving industry requirements and regulations)

- Intimate knowledge of U.S. GAAP and staying up on recent account policy changes and trends

- Ability to develop and maintain accounting processes and financial controls policies from a nascent state to a structured and complete one, along with the socialization those processes and policies to different team leaders to solidify organizational buy-in and collaboration

- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other relevant accounting software

- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with extreme confidence in manipulating large amounts of data quickly and accurately

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

- Curious individual excited to learn as much as they can about e-commerce, software, and the beverage industry, who genuinely enjoys problem solving and can work independently or with others in pursuit of resolution

- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new projects and situations with a positive attitude

- Team-oriented individual who is comfortable prioritizing company-wide success over the goals of their team and themselves

- Experience working at ap, and/or at a technology or software company, or within the realm of ecommerce or in the beverage industry are considered a bonus
