Job Title:  Accounting Clerk

Job Description:

We are looking to bring on an Accounting Clerk to our Accounting team, who will be instrumental in handling the wide variety of day-to-day AP/AR and Royalties tasks for the company.  This is a brand-new role in a growing department, so the work is broad and there is a lot of room to grow.  This role is for someone who with strong attention to detail, who can work well independently as well as part of a team. This position will be remote at least through the end of 2020, but may eventually need to report to our office in Los Angeles.

Reports:  This position will report to the Director of Accounting

Responsibilities:  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable:

  • Open mail and sort with precision
  • Set up new vendors, enter and update all W9’s
  • Send email communications to vendors as needed
  • File and sort all payables for accounting department
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, according to company policy and accounting best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by accounting department


Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
  • Reconcile and post payments to A/R system
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and following up with clients
  • Other duties as assigned by accounting department

Royalties:

  • Analyze 3rd party contracts for royalty obligations
  • Review and administer royalty statements
  • Monthly Review of detailed royalty revenue and expense reports
  • Create and maintain detailed management reports (i.e. artist profiles)
  • Assist with daily inquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist with month-end tasks
  • Other duties and special projects as needed


Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups a plus)
  • Must be organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with accounting systems preferred, specifically Intacct

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with colleagues and senior management
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Flexibility (things move fast here)
  • 0-3 years Royalty experience preferred
