Marketing and Development Coordinator 

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

The Marketing and Development Coordinator works with the marketing and development teams to execute Think Small’s ongoing efforts to engage constituents in service of its mission by leveraging social media and online communities, website content, and online and direct marketing initiatives. The position will be heavily involved in project management and cross-department communication. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing social media engagement, supporting digital advertising and direct marketing needs, and supporting fundraising activities related to campaigns, gift entry, and donor acknowledgments and communications.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Stay current with online groups related to early childhood, including groups for teachers/staff, policy, nonprofits, etc. 

  • Responsible for creating, updating, and monitoring social media, including advertising 

  •  Support creating and updating website content and any third-party online presence like Google Business.

  • Manage social media content calendar.

  • Support direct marketing initiatives, including mailings, postcards, flyers, and catalogues

  • Support direct fundraising initiatives, including biannual appeals and donation acknowledgments. 

  • Support the development and execution of communication initiatives, including news releases, letters, emails, newsletters, website copy, social media content, articles, promotional materials, photography, videos, and annual reports. 

  • Utilize and ensure Think Small brand integrity and alignment across all marketing and communications. 

  • Manage the daily operation of the donor database (Microsoft Dynamics), which tracks gifts, donor/prospect information, and contacts, including mail merge for biannual appeal direct mail campaigns. 

  • Track and report social and digital engagement analytics to help measure the success of tactics against campaign, program, or business goals 

  • In partnership with Data team, create marketing and fundraising reports to monitor overall progress and effectiveness of initiatives. 

  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement. 

  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change. 

  • Support within department and cross-department communication.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance.

  • Competency in required computer programs. 

  • Prepare reports as required, requested. 

  • Current, valid certifications as required. 

  REQUIREMENTS:    

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree combined with relevant experience or additional coursework.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing with preference in nonprofit, human services, or related fields. Social media content management and creation. Project management of wide-ranging marketing activities supporting program or services goals and fundraising initiatives. 

  • Experience working in a complex database is preferred. 

  • Experience in early childhood education strongly preferred. 

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. 

  • Database experience (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, etc.) preferred.

  • Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

  • Light to moderate lifting may be required. 

  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate. 

  • Regular commute to the office. 

  • Occasional local travel/events/conferences. 

  • This position is a hybrid position with four remote-working days, and Wednesdays being a required in-office day.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:    

This position is available immediately.   

The Salary range for this position is: $55,000-$58,000 per year for this position and a unique benefit package which includes:

  • Pre-tax and ROTH 401k with employer match.   

  • 23 days of sick/vacation time earned the first year PLUS 9 scheduled holidays and 4 floating holidays for those whose needs don’t conform to the federal holiday calendar.
