ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:


Think Small, Minnesota’s leader in early learning, is dedicated to advancing early childhood care and education.  We are still committed to the principles that gave rise to our organization 50 years ago - that the quality of a child's early experiences greatly influences his or her success later in life and that there is much that can be done to improve the quality of early childhood settings to optimize a child's development. 

This position supports the Pathway I scholarship team by streamlining communication between Think Small, programs, and parents in the application, awarding, and enrollment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond and provide applications to inquiries from families, early childhood programs, and the general public regarding State Early Learning Scholarships
  • Have a clear understanding of application process and requirements well enough to review applications submitted, request additional verifications, and forward to Case Managers for awarding
  • Contact families who submitted an incomplete application
  • Contact award families to assist with enrollment steps
  • Provide Parent Aware contact information to families needing assistance in finding a program that meets their needs
  • Process, create and send letters to inquiring families
  • Process early learning program enrollments and contact programs for incomplete enrollments form
  • Contact parent and/or program to maintain accurate data entry and case notes.
  • Maintain data privacy and confidentiality
  • File documents into family folder in SharePoint per Team Leader directive
  • Assist in a variety of duties, tasks, projects as assigned during high awarding periods and/or increase in other scholarship administration tasks.
  • Perform routine data checks in the Database 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, with ability to demonstrate proficiency in the required functions of the job
  • Preferred 3 years’ experience in customer service (agency and community service knowledge, verbal, and written communication, listening skills, and problem resolution)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in early childhood, child development, family counseling or related field
  • Demonstrate knowledge of child care, early education options, licensing regulation, community resources and/or child development
  • Data privacy and security training
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This position is available immediately and will have a hybrid work schedule with a mix of on-site and work from home days.  M-F 8am-5pm

Think Small buildings (located at 10 Yorkton Court St. Paul, MN 55117 and 3433 Broadway St NE Ste# 460 Minneapolis, MN 55413) is closed and the majority of our staff are working hybrid.
