JOB DESCRIPTION:

Pinao Consulting is seeking a Design Lead to join our team supporting Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) with Data Portal Software Development Services.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to research and develop cohesive design plans, concepts and prototypes.
• Initiate research activities and provide on-the-job training to enhance the core competence of team members.
• Work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to ensure final design output meets the needs of the organization or customers.
• Ensure development team follows the development approach as laid out.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills / Qualifications:

• Background as a user experience researcher or designer with experience working at the design lead level.
• Possess a strong mastery of design fundamentals and is able to generate creative work that meets the requirements of stakeholders.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and deliver on expectations within tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients.
• Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
• Have experience in at least 10 of the following:
  • Agile development practices
  • Automated testing (unit/integration/end-to-end)
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
  • Refactoring to minimize technical debt
  • Development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) engineering
  • Data science/machine learning
  • Application Protocol Interface (API) development and documentation
  • Open-source software development
  • Cloud deployment
  • Open-source login/authentication services
  • Product management and strategy
  • Usability research (ie. stakeholder interviews, usability testing)
  • Accessibility/508 compliance
  • User experience and product design
  • Wireframing, prototyping, and user task-flow development
  • Content design and copywriting
  • Building and testing public-facing sites and tools
  • User outreach and user adoption strategy
  • Database design, SQL queries, and ElasticSearch/Kibana
  • Security and compliance regulations for FISMA-moderate systems

 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3+ Years

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Clearance: Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) Tier 1 clearance (or Tier 4 if handling PII)

 

Salary Range: $145,500 - 155,500
