OVERVIEW
The Social Enterprise Senior Project Manager (SESPM) manages a portfolio of up to three Social Enterprise contracts, ensuring the successful completion of project goals - revenue and Alumni Temporary Employee success. The SESPM is an integral member of GCF’s award-winning Social Enterprise, where GCF partners with private companies to identify, train and develop the next generation of green sector practitioners through our graduates
The SESPM is able to leverage strong project management skills to plan and implement a range of contracts that may include energy performance contracts that help low-to-moderate income families and small businesses save money and reduce energy consumption and initiatives to strengthen New York City’s urban tree canopy. They ensure that the GCF social enterprise experience provides meaningful skill-building and professional development opportunities for our graduates.
The SESPM reports directly to the Chief Program officer. Candidates must be willing to travel to worksites across New York City and will be comfortable performing tasks in various work conditions, including outdoors and at active construction sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Enterprise Project Management- For Each Contract:
Evaluate project requirements; develop staffing models and implement operating policies and processes.
Create management reporting tools, using Excel and web-based applications.
Create and monitor production schedules to ensure projects achieve performance targets and remain on schedule
Oversee data management and reporting. Perform Quality Control to ensure the accuracy of data generated by field teams, implementing corrective action plans when required.
Interface with client project management teams; NYCHA, and NYCHA property managers, communicating and coordinating on project progress, scheduling, data reporting, and other operational matters.
Coordinate with the Director of Sectoral Business Development and Chief Program Officer when project challenges require additional employer partner resolution.
Work in coordination and collaboration with the Finance Department and Chief Program Officer to determine revenue targets and align staffing resources accordingly.
Work in partnership with the Career Services team to strengthen the interest, preparation, and expertise of alumni.
This may include feedback that is incorporated into the Service Corps experience
Alumni Temporary Employee Coaching and Supervision
Work in coordination and collaboration with the Career Services team to identify, source, and hire Green City Force Alumni to fill available and projected positions on social enterprise contracts.
Supervise project teams, ensuring consistent compliance with GCF safety and professional guidelines at all sites
Conduct 90 days performance reviews and track performance and reinforce professional development
Manage performance issues, including leading disciplinary actions.
Work in coordination and collaboration with the Career Services team to develop, skill-building and training needs for field staff who program are GCF AmeriCorps Service alumni.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
3 - 4 years of relevant work experience (preference for experience in workforce development, construction/ project management)
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills;
Experience working with external vendors and managing relationships;
Excellent computer skills and data management skills, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel;
Commitment to setting and enforcing best-in-class safety standards at all worksites;
Experience managing fee-for-service contracts and working with the New York City Housing Authority;
Organized and adept at creating and maintaining systems for maximum efficiency. Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to fully own and manage projects involving multiple stakeholders. Planning and coordination lead to high-quality and on-time deliverables;
Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making. Knows when to escalate issues and engage others to inform decisions and achieve desired results;
Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive situations properly aligned with ethics and GCF protocol.
Demonstrated ability to work with staff at a variety of levels and to coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects
Motivated self-learner with exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and time management skills
Experience working with young adults and or frontline communities preferred
