Job Summary In a highly collaborative distributed agile team environment, you would be involved in all stages of the design and implementation of user interface, API, and data components for Airspace Link’s applications.  


Duties and Responsibilities 


-Lead, contribute to, and participate in innovation projects from research, ideation, incubation, to scale and production 

-Lead innovation for major software components, systems, and features

-Design and develop new systems to enhance data and analytics performance with high throughput and low latency in distributed systems 

-Own complex features from specification to production as assigned in project management software 

-Collaborate with product and technology team members to avail scalable software 

-Facilitate and contribute to knowledge transfer and aid in the growth and development of other engineers on the team 

-Drive technical decisions in a principled manner. Arbitrate and make decisions that move the development and architecture forward 

-Drive a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Identify and introduce new technologies and patterns that elevate the platform 

-Develop highly scalable microservices-based applications that are fault-tolerant and highly available 

-Adhere to our internal process for completing work items and deploying code to production 

-Mentor and coach junior engineers in best coding practices 

-Participate in architecture, code, security, and operational reviews 

-Maintain information security within their area of the organization  


Qualifications and Skills 

-B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent years to relevant experience or education 

-5+ years of professional software engineering experience working on production SaaS applications or APIs  

-An affinity for code and performance optimizations, including algorithm/data design and usage  

-Direct development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue, Angular; TypeScript experience preferred 

-Experience developing RESTful APIs with Node.js, .NET, Java, or GoGo experience preferred 

-Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services 

-Familiarity with modern AuthZ and AuthN standards (OAuth2, JWT, etc.) 

-Familiarity with CSS and/or CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass, etc 

-SQL fluency  

-Ability to implement best practices and mentor junior engineers within the team 

-An eagerness to learn and adapt to the needs of a greenfield industry  

-Part 107 or another pilot’s license a plus
