doing:
We are looking for an ambitious client facing, UX leader and Creative Director to grow and guide a team of talented User Experience and User Interface designers through a significant period of organizational growth. Cask changes the way people work by delivering world class user experiences for the employees of our clients leveraging industry-leading technologies.
The ideal candidate will own the end to end UX and UI design delivery processes within Cask - a critical aspect of delivery for many of our client engagements. In alignment with other practice leaders and delivery teams, the candidate will ensure consistent and financially sound execution of UX and UI design activities and cohesive delivery for our customers as part of our broad engagements, which cover process and functional consulting, UX/UI design, technology implementations and enablement through organizational change management and training activities.
The ideal candidate will:
Be forward thinking and take a considered approach to assessing and evolving the design processes at Cask for our next stages of major growth, while maintaining the skill and experience of the team required to deliver on the current portfolio of services
Be a catalyst for change and enthusiastic about cultivating a mature UX culture throughout organization
Be experienced delivering multi-day working sessions for clients to establish UX and UI design needs and present strategies, recommendations and deliverables
Orchestrate a team that works effectively together; efficiently coordinate and communicate with other leaders, team members, and stakeholders
Oversee, empower, motivate and inspire the design team; mentor and develop designers to build capacity and strengths through focused, constructive feedback and challenging work assignments
Create a shared UX vision and understanding across functions within Cask, and establish long term goals for the practice
Be comfortable working as part of a distributed team and able to travel to client sites.

Headquarters are in San Diego, individual can be remote.
Full-time employment and/or Contract to full time.
This is not a software development position

What you’ll bring to the table:
Assist with scoping, scheduling and staffing for projects based on work to be performed
Identify critical client engagement outcomes and establish goals for business value and successful delivery
Facilitate working sessions with large clients to establish UX and UI design needs and present strategies, recommendations and deliverables
Discover and construct information architecture
Translate project requirements into inspirational creative briefs and prototypes
Assess projects and prescribe the best path for the team, determining the best approach and which skills to apply based on client for small, medium, large projects to provide the best user experience constrained by budget and schedule
Implement standardized, efficient, best practices for our engagement processes that match or exceed industry standards to grow UX maturity, in a financially sound manner
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant Bachelors or preferred Masters Degree - e.g., Design, User Experience, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or Bachelor’s degree and experience
Experience leading a design team
Excellence in both UX and UI design skills with a strong portfolio
Knowledge of and experience with rapid prototyping software solutions (e.g., Axure)
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is a plus
