Senior Editor, Glossy
We are seeking a senior editor for Glossy, Digiday Media’s brand chronicling change in the fashion and beauty industries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with experience both editing and reporting business news related to fashion and/or beauty. The senior editor should be familiar with Glossy’s voice and have a proven track record of managing teams. This position reports directly to the editor-in-chief, leading a team of six reporters.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of editors, reporters, including steering coverage, establishing growth paths
- Working with managing editor to ensure the smooth functioning of the team’s daily output
- Ensuring Glossy stories are ambitious, rigorously reported, unflinching and clean
- Assigning and editing stories
- Reporting fashion and beauty business stories, features
- Managing and hosting multimedia editorial content
- Serving as editorial lead on select events’ formats, topics and speaker programming
- Representing Glossy at company and industry events
Qualifications:
- 6+ years reporting and editing experience
- 3+ years managing direct reports
- Business news experience
- Large network of fashion and beauty executive contacts
- Deep understanding of the major issues in fashion and beauty
