The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all marina operations and ensuring that all goals, objectives are met through planning, directing and managing the marina staff. In addition, the GM will ensure the marina is in full compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily marina operations, including slip management, customer service, fueling, safety protocols, and facility maintenance.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of marina infrastructure, including docks, piers, and mechanical systems, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance to deliver outstanding service and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance projects, mechanical repairs, and equipment upgrades.
  • Enforce safety standards and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with maritime regulations and environmental policies.
  • Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and increase marina membership or rental services.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance logs, safety reports, and financial documentation.
  • Operation of the entire marina asset and business to ensure efficient and profitable operations and reaching the maximum potential of the facility.
  • Maintain an accurate rent roll and assist with occupancy reporting.
  • Willingness to assist upland tenants with rent collection, maintenance requests, etc.
  • Responsible for all local permitting compliance and coordination of annual inspections as required by local municipalities,

Experience:

  • Proven experience in marina or waterfront facility management with a strong understanding of marine operations.
  • Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to dock systems, mechanical equipment, or marine infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues swiftly and implement effective solutions.
  • Prior experience in safety compliance within maritime or similar environments is preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to swim
  • CPR and First aid certified (or willingness to get certification)
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to field management teams
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions
  • General seamanship knowledge, boating right of ways rules, basic navigation, etc.
