Working in conjunction with the security team and under the direction of the Security Supervisor and Senior Manager for Operations and Special Projects, the Security Associate is responsible for the day-to-day operations and security of both locations of the School. This is an active security position, and requires frequent movement in and between facilities. The role requires a customer service mentality, taking care to assist our community members (students, families, and staff) and guide them through our procedures and protocols to help keep everyone safe.
Job Descriptions:

Participate in student arrivals and dismissals—mornings, afternoons, and during outdoor time;

Perform safety checks, check fire extinguishers and room safety;

Assist staff in checking in guests to events and school tours;

Assist during fire and lock down drills as well as in the event of an actual emergency;

Assist Security Supervisor and Operations and Special Projects Senior Manager to complete special projects;

Participate in school start-up and end-of-year tasks, and special summer projects when students are not in school;

Assist with deliveries;

Cover extended hours such as security guard sick/vacation days on security desk;

Must be flexible in approach to tasks, and perform other duties as assigned.

Have a team spirit and willingness to assist facilities staff when needed;

Must be willing and able to work overtime, both early morning and late afternoon/evening hours as needed and very occasionally a weekend event.

Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma is required. Active security license a plus, must be willing to undergo security guard training if not already licensed.
Work Environment: This job operates in a multi-campus school setting. School is currently located on the 4th floor of one building, three floors in another building, and there is also a separate gym facility five blocks away. Campuses are located a block away from each other. This role requires regular stair climbing, as well as walking between the campuses, the gym space, and to various locations in the area.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds. During fire drills and other times, employees will need to use the stairs to go between campus floors and the ground level. Typing required for composing emails and writing reports.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time position in an educational facility which is open 8 hours a day in multiple locations. On occasion, the Security Associate is required to arrive early in morning and/or work overtime during afternoon, evening, or weekend events.
