The Quad Preparatory School is looking for a Psychosocial Floating Teacher. Duties include:

 

 

  • Provide  support to students, teachers and clinicians regarding student needs, staff and student safety, assisting with positive behavior interventions

  • Individual would report to the Associate Clinical Director & Chief of Psychosocial Learning

  • On-call student and teacher support throughout the school day to monitor student behavior

  • Support student greeting, lunch and dismissal process

  • Uphold program-wide student behavior plan and school safety protocols

  • Support teaching and clinical staff in managing student behavior and supporting Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) during crises

  • Takes direction from Clinical team and Administration to support student interventions

  • Assist clinical team in the implementation of bullying protocols and restitution tasks

    • The process includes, but may not be limited to: (In-school suspension, Communicate reason for behavioral consequence with the student, support reintegration intooom, Assist with de-escalation of dysregulated students)

  • participate in staff and team meetings regularly to communicate student needs and progress

  • Serve as collaborator with all staff; keep personnel informed of relevant information regarding students

  • Conduct daily walk throughs of the campus to ensure school expectations are being met

  • Work with staff and students to promote building maintenance and cleanliness

  • Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents to deliver a fully-integrated, student-centered learning environment for each individual learner;

  • Participate in all training and staff development modules, including reading required books and articles on cutting-edge 2E and other educational developments;

  • Must be able to use GSuite, specifically Google Drive

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment: This job operates in a school setting.  School is located on the 6th floor of building. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the school.

 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must have physical ability to lift and/or move 140 pounds. During fire drills, employee will need to use the stairs to go to ground level from 6th floor. Typing required for composing emails and writing reports.

 

Travel: No travel is expected for this position

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position in an educational facility which is open eight hours a day. Teachers work ten months out of the year according to the academic calendar (late August to late June). Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. 

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Crisis management experience
