We are looking for a licensed clinical psychologist to join our Early Childhood clinical team in providing effective, integrated school-based intervention. The psychologist will carry a caseload of elementary school students in kindergarten and 1st grade. Our Early Childhood classrooms are child-centered, play-based learning environments; play-based learning is central to our mission, and social learning forms the bedrock to support academic learning. Clinical services largely take place integrated into the classroom routine and activities, with individual pull-out services as needed. The clinical team at Quad Prep is highly collaborative, a trait that the psychologist must uphold to provide personalized support to each enrolled student. 



Expectations:


  • Provide individual and group counseling to a direct caseload students, and complete session notes and other data tracking of student goals. 

  • Integrate into the classroom routines and activities in order to provide integrated clinical services. 

  • Schedule monthly collaborative calls with each student’s outside providers and student’s parents (all parties on the same call), and collaborate with parents and outside providers as frequently as needed.

  • Participate in weekly Psychosocial Team meetings with all faculty and staff.

  • Perform or supervise timely risk assessment; participate and ensure all follow-up.

  • Advise and coach teachers and staff in regards to each child's individual therapeutic needs; collaborate with other clinicians on students’ teams to determine the best approach for each student.

  • As applicable, conduct weekly supervision/consultation with supervisees and ensure responsibilities of supervisees are carried out.

  • As applicable, oversee psychosocial interns’/externs’/practicum students’ data tracking of students’ goals and counseling provided to students; directly supervise interns/externs as assigned.

  • Create and present Professional Development workshops for staff and/or Quad Prep events as assigned.

  • Competently utilize Google Suite, in particular Google Drive and Docs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a school setting. The school is located on the fourth floor of a building with two elevators. This role requires working in various locations around the school and the potential for accompanying students to a local park or outings in the community.


Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items under 20 pounds. During fire drills, the employee, unless physically unable, will need to use the stairs to go to ground level from the fourth floor. Typing is required for composing emails and writing reports. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position in an educational facility which is open eight hours a day. Clinicians work 12 months out of the year according to the August-June academic calendar and with vacation time in the summer after a full year of employment. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8 A.M.-4 P.M.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Possess and maintain New York State License to practice clinical psychology (or currently be working toward NYS licensure and possess at the beginning of employment in July 2020)

  • Doctoral level clinical psychology degree, PsyD or PhD

  • School-based experience with early childhood and young elementary population

  • Experience with students who have social-cognitive challenges and learning differences

  • Experience in evidence-based treatment, particularly CBT and DBT

  • Demonstration of consistent self-growth and challenge through professional development

  • Interpersonal style that builds consensus and compels constructive problem solving

  • Commitment to furthering the field of psychology through training others


Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • Experience working with twice-exceptional youth
