Title: Director of Compassion Ministries

Type: Full Time Exempt Position

Report to: Chief Operations Officer

Work Description:

The Director of Compassion Ministries is a management-level, full time position, under the administrative direction of the 6 Stones Mission Network Chief Operations Officer. This position requires duties performed in an accountable nature, requiring initiative and discretion. The Director of Compassion Ministries should have knowledge of assigned subject areas, proficiency in major aspects of assigned projects, coordination of activities with an emphasis on effective development and delivery of project work.

Duties:

1. Establish and coordinate assigned projects within the timeline requirements with special attention to team development, correspondence and regular updates.

1. Collaborate within the 6 Stones environment in order to develop plans, projects and ministry teams with our staff, our coalition of partnering churches and other stakeholders. 

1. Understand best practices and recommend appropriate modifications, improvements and/or adjustments to processes; building buy-in for changes.

1. Spearhead implementation of change and expansion of program offerings.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Momentum Program by recruiting participants, engaging community partners and churches, facilitating courses, structuring curriculum, booking speakers, providing case management to participants and creating and implementing program outcomes in order to fulfill the set graduation requirements and set achievements and demonstrate success. 

1. Oversee New Hope Center operations by leading the Compassion Ministries Coordinator and empowering them to enhance and inspire an already strong volunteer base to operate effectively and achieve ministry goals including well staffed daily operations, efficient processes, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer training.

1. Develop and expand relationships with existing churches, business, cities, apartment complexes, and community partners by strategically collaborating in ways that sustain and grow the Compassion Ministries department and programs.

1. Collaborate with 6 Stones Staff and partners to create a discipleship ministry for those that have accepted Christ and want to go to the next level. Connect them to resources within their community or “the local church” community.

1. Effectively lead staff collaboration and volunteer leadership of 6 Stones’ primary warehousing area including process development for proper order, storage, and upkeep.

1. Maintain and continue to improve automation systems and process for appropriate data management for registering and tracking clients, volunteers, in-kind donations, spiritual impact and growth.

1. Assess, develop and enlist resources (information, training, classes) to address the various needs and issues that our neighbors face. Collaborate with other organizations, businesses, church partners, staff and school district(s).

1. Process and approve rental/mortgage and utility assistance requests when funding is available 6 Stones to ensure we help meet the needs of our Tarrant County neighbors.

1. Champion Church Engagement across 6 Stones including a strategic focus on follow up from all program areas including the New Hope Center, Community Powered Revitalization, Operation Back to School and Night of Hope (connecting guests with teams, churches, etc.)

1. Maintain a financially responsible ministry that not only manages the available resources and budget, but also develops funding strategies and events in coordination with Community Stakeholders, 6 Stones Staff, Board and Resource Development Committee.

1. Assists the Chief Operations Officer in other areas as assigned.
