Director of Performance Marketing 

Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000

$1,500 signing bonus

Founders First Capital Partners is seeking a performance marketing expert to join the marketing team. The Director, Performance Marketing at Founders First Capital Partners (Founders First) will play a crucial role in the growth and success of diverse-led companies. Founders First provides access to capital, advisory services, and access to small business accelerator programs to underrepresented entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth, and bridging the wealth gap faced by minority-owned businesses.

This role will lead the development and execution of digital marketing programs and campaigns to drive lead generation and overall B2B customer interactions. The role is responsible for implementing, and optimizing digital  B2B marketing programs, including but not limited to paid/PPC channels, retargeting, email, SEO/organic and social channels. Reporting directly to our CMO, this role will lead and elevate the current digital ad strategy, raise email and content programs to a new standard, focused on optimizing to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement weekly, monthly and annual digital marketing plans under direction of CMO, with focus on high quality lead generation 

  • Day-to-day execution and optimization of performance marketing channels including PPC, SEO, email, and retargeting and social media 

  • Manage the weekly digital media buy and campaign optimization (Google Ads) 

  • Own the development and implementation of campaign A/B testing including email, website and paid channels 

  • Manage performance marketing budget by ensuring spending is being optimized across channels to attain lead generation goals, ensuring optimal CPC and CAC against marketing budget overall 

  • Utilize data and analytics to continuously monitor campaign performance, optimize outcomes, scale strategies and drive improvements based on data-driven insights

  • Develop and report out on daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including key marketing performance indicators, tracking, and testing data that is sent to key stakeholders

  • Actively monitor performance across channels daily, ensuring campaigns are executed flawlessly and performance is in line with expectations

  • Develop and manage overall email strategy and campaign execution and implement a new email process workflow and strategy focused on lead generation and nurture 

  • Analyze program performance as well as industry trends to develop plans and implement for the optimal digital marketing mix and business outcomes 

  • Manage 3rd party agencies, partners and Digital Marketing Specialist 

  • Oversee social media marketing (LinkedIn), with eye towards shifting to a more deliberate content strategy geared towards thought leadership and lending program awareness 

  • Develop, manage and approve all digital content (ads, posts, email and other content as needed)

Qualifications Needed for Success

  • A Digital marketing expert with significant hands on experience in defining, tracking, and analyzing digital 

  • Hands on expertise with Google Ads, GA4, LinkedIn, and Hubspot 

  • Proficient using CRM technology systems (preferably Salesforce) for pipeline management and reporting tool

  • Analytical ability: efficient and proficient at creating and presenting analyses built on large quantities of information in a simple and understandable way.

  • Enjoy creating advanced analyses and presentations as much as  spending time on competitor websites to gain ideas and market data to support your analysis.

  • Strong work ethic: Deadlines are critical. Sometimes the position requires a 40-hour work week, and at times  it requires 60.  A successful candidate understands the need for both.  

  • Dedication: passionate about the role and work with a true drive to market the best products in the best way.

  • Independent/Self-directed: In a fast-growing company, in a fast-changing industry, everybody is constantly busy. Comfortable with getting a task and running with it to completion with limited input and oversight.

  • Minimum of a college degree, bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Preferred prior experience with financial services, fintech, Venture Capital, bank and/or other lending institutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, adaptability and commitment.

  • Vested interest in supporting companies led by underrepresented entrepreneurs and contributing to a more inclusive business landscape.

 

Additional Information

 

This is a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA that requires 3 days in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday

and Thursday) and up to 2 days remote (Monday and Friday) if preferred.
