About the Job

Nexant has an excellent opportunity for someone looking for an entry into the energy industry.  We are currently seeking a Jr. Coordinator / Jr. Admin. Assistant that will be based in Salt Lake City, UT.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in energy efficiency and have the right mix of technical ability, program expertise, and interpersonal skills to educate and inspire energy-saving actions for customers and vendors that are engaged with the Dominion Energy and Rocky Mountain Business programs. Specific responsibilities will include: becoming well-versed in the ThermWise and wattsmart Business Programs, fielding phone calls and responding to emails from vendors and customer inquiries regarding applications or participation in the incentive programs, support applicants to help them complete incentive/rebate applications and submitting them to processing on behalf of the customer or contractor. In some cases, this candidate may be asked to attend meetings with customers or vendors to help support and train them on program requirements and application completion.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Think big-picture and support the goal to influence customers to be energy efficient
  • Assist customers to participate strategically in utility programs.
  • Earn and maintain customer, vendor, and client trust and continually build relationships
  • Be available, deliver what you promise, and hear what the customer is saying which includes:
  • Returning customer phone calls within 24 hours
  • Competently understand the utilities’ Business Programs and required paperwork to apply for incentives and rebates
  • Effectively screen and manage incoming projects to ensure project integrity and documented compliance with program requirements
  • Use their time effectively to obtain appropriate project information that facilitates quick and timely project application processing
  • Work collaboratively and communicate well with the Outreach Team during the project review process to ensure good communication resulting in a smooth and efficient application submittal.
  • Proactively manage projects that begin to stagnate and take appropriate action and steps to complete or close the project (generally, after two months) after considering size, viability, timeline, etc.
  • Track customers’/vendors’ engagements using SalesForce customer management software
  • Provide immediate program and technical feedback; leverage internal resources (engineering and business management teams) as necessary
  • Administrative tasks and other duties will also be required, as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is required or comparable field experience in buildings systems will be considered. Current enrollment in Salt Lake City Energy Management programs is desired
  • Excellent organizational, writing, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • 1-5 years of experience within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry is preferred
  • Understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC) and/or sustainability practices is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems is a plus.

Supervision Received:

  • Receives operational direction from responsible supervisor
  • When supporting utility programs, may receive direction from the programs’ managers
