Who We Need
Ericsson Federal Technologies Group (Ericsson Federal) has an immediate opening for an experienced Vice President of Law to lead and oversee the company’s legal affairs to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in support of U.S. Government customers. The VP of Law will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and business leadership team, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and international laws while enabling strategic growth by providing tactical legal and risk advise and planning.
What You’ll Do
The Vice President of Law will have oversight and management responsibility for day-to-day legal matters in support of company operations as well as developing and executing the organization’s legal and compliance strategy, aligning legal risk management with business objectives and long-term growth plans that align with U.S. Government customer needs and Ericsson Federal’s vision. You will oversee Ericsson Federal’s compliance, corporate governance, employment law, Intellectual property ethics, cybersecurity law, and enterprise risk management and will engage in government contracts and commercial transaction legal support, programmatic trainings, policy development and implementation, maintaining required security clearances and other legal and compliance activities needed to establish a robust government practice.
The Vice President of Law will serve as a member of Ericsson Federal Leadership Team and provide the Leadership Team with reliable information and insight into legal issues facing the company, as well as practicality of alternative strategies and decisions. They will take an innovative approach in support of strategic business initiatives and have broad and complex management and business experience to effectively collaborate with all company stakeholders on matters of strategic importance.
Strongly Desired Traits:
- Proven experience in U.S. Government contracting laws and regulations (FAR, DFARS, SBA).
- Skilled in commercial and government contract negotiation and management
- Experience working with classified information and U.S. Government customers including DoD and/or federal environments.
- Experience supporting or operating within organizations subject to FOCI considerations.
- Proven executive and advisory experience with impeccable judgment and decision-making acumen.
- Expertise in corporate governance, compliance and ethics programs.
- Expertise in law department management, including personnel and outside counsel management.
- Experience supporting government contracts, proposals, teaming agreements, and M&A transactions.
- Ability to prioritize legal tasks in a near-startup environment.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
In this exciting role, you will:
- Play a primary role in safeguarding the company’s rights, assets and reputation. You will provide legal counsel and advice to the board of directors, CEO, and senior management on managing legal and regulatory risk, assuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and protecting and developing the company’s reputation with relevant agencies and regulatory and enforcement authorities.
- Manage the company’s commercial and government contracts, including contract and any subcontract negotiation and drafting, ensuring FAR/DFARS and federal compliance. Provide legal advice on an as needed basis to the business through the term of the contract.
- Engage with relevant internal stakeholders to prepare for and respond to regulatory and other audits, managing the use of external counsel as appropriate.
- Establish legal and ethics policies and processes and monitor compliance for risk management.
- Oversee the company’s ethics programs and investigations, ensuring that the company and its management adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior, maintain the code of ethics and manage a robust ethics training program.
- Identify potential legal risks associated with business strategies and operations, advising on how to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Play a key role in obtaining and maintaining necessary security clearances, including the company’s facility security clearance.
- Advise on legal aspects of HR such as employment law, compensation, workforce policies, and employment actions.
- Advise on cybersecurity, data protection, and incident response
- Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring that the organization adheres to best practices in accountability and transparency.
- Manage legal proceedings dispute resolution and legal or regulatory claims arising out of the company’s operations, including for litigation, contract disputes, and regulatory investigations.
- Proactively monitor and track developments in government contracting regulations, legislation and enforcement and DoD-related areas to ensure ongoing compliance and fulfillment of requirements and mitigation of risks to the business; advise leadership on potential risks as well as opportunities and strategies for business development.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to support organizational goals and priorities.

Job Qualifications
- 18+ years strong record of increasingly responsible legal and leadership roles
- Extensive experience supporting DoD / U.S. government contracting
- Active TS/SCI clearance or past holding of such a clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Active U.S. bar membership, J.D. degree.
