Rejuven Joint Care is a patient-centered arthritis treatment practice that focuses on increasing the mobility of our patients by using medical and interventional therapies to decrease pain, increase mobility, delay surgery, and care for those patients who are not candidates for surgery.

Certified Medical Assistant 

Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant is a key component of our team that works closely with the clinicians to deliver excellent patient care to our patients, ensuring services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for upcoming examinations.

Essential Functions and Characteristics

  • Some phlebotomy

  • Once trained, fit knee braces and instruct patients in the wear and use of the braces
  • Willingness to contribute to team discussions as an equal and make suggestions to the administrator on improvements to processes that improve the patient and employee experience

  • Provides excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner

  • Seeks to be an integral part of the practice, ready to accept medical responsibilities within her/his scope of practice and administrative responsibilities as a vital team member

  • Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all medical records are correct and up to date

  • Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height

  • Able to contribute to the warm, welcoming environment for which our clinic will be known

  • Performs departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stock supplies, track referrals, and answer phones as needed

  • Able and willing to be flexible to cover medical office front desk duties as requested

  • Proficient with computers and willing to learn the facility electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Document patient histories and other patient information on paper or EMR charts

  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on the clinician’s preferences and handle multiple task requests

  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly with the assistance of other team members

  • Attention to detail in all duties, especially in customer service and documentation

  • Comfortable working with middle-aged and older patients

  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Associates Degree (Medical Assistant)

Licensure/Certification

  • Active Medical Assisting Certification (required)

Experience

  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)

Skills & Abilities

  • Possesses problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner

  • Creates a welcoming, professional atmosphere commensurate with our high customer service standards

Scheduled Hours

36 hours per week

Monday and Wednesday 9am - 5pm, Friday 9am - noon in GREENVILLE (242 Adley Way, Greenville)

Tuesday and Thursday 9am - 5pm in SPARTANBURG (365 E. Blackstock Rd, Spartanburg)

 

Work Shift

Day shift (typically, 9-5 Monday through Thursday, (9-Noon FRIDAY)
