Strategy and Vision

Effectively coordinate with Director to ensure work plan is aligned with program best practices, client priorities, regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and Build It Green’s mission, values, and strategies.


Project Management

• Actively manage program achievement of key performance indicators, including annual energy savings, participation, and financial targets

• Oversee the cross-functional team responsible for implementing the program. Maintain clear roles and responsibilities of contributing team members through effective and transparent communication.

• Ensure adherence to program standards and best practices and prevailing regulatory requirements, as established by the California Public Utilities Commission and other regulatory bodies.

• Effectively coordinate program operations to maximize program participation and ensure a high level of customer service, including the prompt and accurate review of program enrollment and incentive applications. 

• Ensure program documentation, including but not limited to, manuals, policies, and procedures, is accurate, complete, and current.   • Supervise the development, implementation and enhancement of quality assurance standards, installation specifications, and quality assurance delivery systems. 

• Promptly respond to questions and follow through, or refer to others, as needed to ensure resolution, including prompt and professional response to all client communications within 24 hours of receipt. • Effectively manage and/or coordinate the dispute resolution process to ensure an effective resolution.

• Develop and coordinate accurate and complete project and program tracking and reporting within established deadlines, including project reporting to the CPUC in support of program evaluation activities. • Coordinate and provide strategic input into the development and implementation of an effective Salesforce-based customer relationship management and incentive processing information management system for tracking projects.  Coordination may be needed with IT staff, external project partners and programming contractors.   External Communication and Public Speaking

• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. • Prepare and deliver presentations and/or represent Build It Green to external audiences. Team and People Management • Collaborate with other Program Delivery Project Managers to meet department’s objectives • Supervise Associates and/or Assistants. • Supervise cross-functional teams drawn from other departments

• Manage external consultants, subcontractors, and vendors. • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Effectively manage, lead, coach and develop staff to achieve organization’s mission and goals.
Finance and Administration

• Develop program and contract budget(s) • Lead the development of forecasts of programmatic and financial performance and work plans. Actively manage performance relative to forecasts and provide regular forecast updates to key stakeholders.

• Contribute to annual budgeting process for assigned area of responsibility. • Review and approve monthly time sheets, expense reports, and invoices.


SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience • Minimum 6 years of experience in Project Manager or related position.  

• Minimum of 4 years of supervisor experience with a strong working knowledge of management practices including relevant employment laws, regulations and best practices. 

• Experience with multifamily real estate, development, or property management a plus

• Experience in construction, building energy performance, or a related field a plus, particularly as it relates to heating, cooling, lighting, weatherization, and other energy-efficiency related projects. Communication and Interpersonal Skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to listen effectively, to select and use appropriate communication methods, and to present ideas and information effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to top management and/or board of directors.

• Work effectively as a part of a team. Work Management Skills • Develop, lead and manage multiple projects strategies, goals, and plans with complex deliverables. 

• Take initiative and act independently with minimal supervision. • Respond effectively to changing situations and sensitive inquiries or complaints. 

• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and view every action and decision in terms of organization and customer impact. • Demonstrated ability to move between tasks and remain focused. 

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve problems that balance multiple needs and interests.

• Demonstrated ability to respond to changing and sometimes ambiguous situations. 

• Demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness in completing work.  Technical Skills

• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite and Windows operating system. • Basic proficiency with Salesforce and webinar communication programs. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Valid California Driver’s License 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of the residential construction industry, sustainable building practices, and energy efficiency.   Expected is 6 years minimum experience.
