About the Position

The Contractor Support Manager supports key contractors participating in utility and financing programs implemented and managed by Build It Green.Support includes relationship development, mentoring, communications, and new contractor recruitment with residential building contractors.The Manager provides support and client relationship selling, and may spend up to 80% of the time in the field meeting contractor clients.Work is conducted in the field, in the Build It Green office, and may be conducted via pre-approved telecommuting.A good driving record and reliable transportation is required. Mileage reimbursement according to the IRS mileage rate is provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Management

  • Provide relationship development and management with assigned partner contractor clients.
  • Provide communication and services to contractor via email, telephone, or site visit as needed, or by request.
  • Performs as a mentor to contractors during their program participation relative to onboarding, education, updates, best practices, and disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Ability to multi-task various situations and record all contractor engagement activities daily utilizing the customer relationship management (CRM) platform to report and record activities.
  • Assist contractor to identify “opportunities to improve” and provide suggested best practices to improve inefficiencies.
  • Must be able to commute/drive to client contractor business locations as needed, must have access to reliable transportation.

Communications/Presentations

  • Prepare and deliver presentations on the utility and finance programs managed by Build It Green.
  • Presentation formats may be in writing, or in formal presentation such as in front of a group or one-on-one with clients using prepared presentation tools such as summaries, reports, manuals, instruction, PowerPoint presentations, webinar or conference call meetings.

Team and People Coordination

  • Collaborate in a professional manner internally and externally to ensure services are delivered at the expectations of the contractor and Build It Green.
  • Successfully perform the duties both independently and in a team environment. Requires timely communication with all departments and program managers.
  • Manage the client relationship with assigned contractors to support program growth and effectiveness.


Finance and Administration

  • Monitor and accurately record all tasks as appropriate using applications dedicated to service partners, managers, and internal departments.
  • Maintain, update and create protocols, documentation as needed to ensure consistency with programs and Build It Green Standards.
  • Manage to assigned program budgets to realize program administration efficiencies and effective revenue outcomes.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION: REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience such as would be gained working 5 years in the construction industry.
  • Clear, concise and effective communications,verbally and in writingto present ideas and information to employees, clients, management and/or other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration skills to be able to maximize team coordination and enhanced results.
  • Problem-Solver.As an action-oriented self-starter, you’re eager to apply your expertise to provide solutions to questions and request for guidance.
  • Ability to engage with contractors, colleagues, and stake holders that enhances positive rapport, program support, and long term relationships.
  • Knowledge of computer systems principles and procedures including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and other relevant programs, such as the ability to conduct webinars, draft reports using Excel or provide written guide or instruction in Word.Ability to conduct internet web research info lookups etc.Experience working with web-based CRM platforms to view, manage and enter data.
  • Basic office management skills (telephone, use of other office equipment).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision and to meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills required.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION: PREFERRED

  • Minimum 3 years knowledge about residential construction/building science skills with an intermediate working knowledge of energy efficiency, building science, HVAC, construction or related fields.
  • Ability to establish creditability by providing accurate information relative to program updates, changes, requirements and problem solving.

Other

  • Valid California Drivers’ License, a good driving record and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Personal cell phone usage for business expense incurred is reimbursable according to the Build It Green cell phone expense reporting procedure.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, during business hours as identified by client contract, occasional overtime.

  • Position requires constant periods of sitting and working at a computer and frequent talking on the telephone.
