Senior Interior Designer

S9 Architecture is seeking a highly motivated Senior Interior Designer to join our team of professionals who are committed to creating aesthetically beautiful spaces which are also meaningful in terms of social and urban impact.

The Senior Interior Designer executes on exceptional design skills to successfully represent our design approach, as well as market and maintain excellent client relationships. This role offers the opportunity to lead interior design on commercial workplace and residential projects, as well as lead junior staff and oversee design and project financials. This position is highly collaborative and requires working with clients, project managers, architects, and others on multiple projects through all phases from proposal through construction.

Responsibilities:
• Lead interior design assignments from conceptual through project completion.
• Build, nurture, and foster new client relationships.
• Work closely with Principals to promote our design approach and philosophy.
• Lead interior projects, including programming, client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, and management of budgets and schedules.
• Be an integral part of the growth and success of interior design at S9.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and satisfy clients with a design approach and ideas.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, exceed goals, and provide high quality service to clients.
• Create and conduct client presentations.
• Keep projects on budget and on schedule.
• Estimate material requirements and preliminary costs.

Desired Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant design experience in interiors.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Excellent design skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Current knowledge of resources and trends in design.
• Strong experience with contract management, RFPs, and bid documents.
• Successful track record coordinating work efforts of junior staff.
• Strong client presentation skills

Salary range: $90,000-$125,000+

The range above is a good faith estimate based on the expectations as laid out in the job description.  We are however often open to a wide variety of profiles and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.  If that ends up being the case, the actual salary may vary from the estimates provided above.
