Join our team to expand our successful Career Academy program.  This position has been created to oversee our 5th academy in Real Estate, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. Our Career Academy programs give high school students industry exposure, the opportunity to earn certifications and connect directly with industry professionals. Through industry exposure as a high school student, participants can experience careers in a safe place and better understand what they like and don't like before they select their first career. 

Primary role: The program manager for this academy will coordinate the sessions to introduce students to the various career pathways in Real Estate and Finance. This could also include the banking, insurance, and brokerage fields.  As part of this work, the program manager will share their experience and create partnerships with local professionals to bring their expertise to the program.  They will also work with the Academy Director to create the curriculum.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with Academy Director to prepare educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines and/or state and local requirements. 
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons and projects and administer and evaluate assessments and assignments. 
  • Monitor students’ academic progress including, but not limited to progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills. 
  • Supports student achievement and career planning. 
  • Maintain discipline and safety in the classroom and work sites. 
  • Plan field trips to local companies and maintain relationships with industry contacts. 
  • Oversee job shadowing at various sites. 
  • Selects and requisitions/purchases instructional materials; maintains inventory records. 
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the Academy Director.        

 

Skills and Life Experience:

  • 4+ years teaching and/or real estate, insurance, finance or entrepreneurship industry experience. 
  • Passionate about mission of Youthentity and working with youth
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be outgoing, results-oriented, personable and flexible with time and duties as they evolve
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, efficiency, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively as member of multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Ability to always act as ambassador for Youthentity
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft, Google
  • Ability to work as a strong team player as well as independently
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred

Time and Compensation Details:

Part Time with flexible hours, up to 15 hours per week. $30 per hour.  This position is based  in our Carbondale, Colorado office.  This position follows the school calendar with limited time commitment in the summer.  The class will meet after school.  All other hours can be scheduled with agreement of the Academy Director. There is some flexibility to work from home.
