Role Overview:
The Branch Launch Manager (BLM) is responsible for planning and executing the launch of Grameen America’s Los Angeles branch and ensuring its operational readiness. The BLM must be familiar with neighborhoods and communities across the Greater Los Angeles area. Key responsibilities include conducting market surveys, identifying priority operating areas, building and leading a strong local team, and overseeing outreach, recruitment, and onboarding of new program members. The BLM will also manage daily branch operations and the loan portfolio, ensure field staff perform effectively, achieve targets for enrolling clients who qualify for services, and foster a culture of service excellence.
The BLM will participate in the Branch Manager Academy, -a four- to six-month immersive training program designed to accelerate the onboarding, assimilation, and learning of Grameen America’s operations and the field roles.
On-Site Work Requirements:
The Branch Launch Manager must be physically present in the community and/or branch office three to five days per week, depending on branch requirements. This expectation includes field-based community work. On-site requirements may change at the organization’s discretion. Based on GAI’s business priorities and staffing needs, GAI reserves the right to reassign the employee to another branch within a 30- to 40-mile radius.
Leadership:
- Direct, manage, coordinate, and execute all day-to-day branch operations, meetings, and activities.
- Recruit, hire, motivate, and lead talented team members to support successful branch launch and ongoing operations.
- Provide clear direction and leadership to team members by setting objectives, delivering training, mentoring and coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, and providing ongoing feedback and communication.
- Ensure the team meets expectations for compliance, service quality, performance, and professionalism.
- Set branch goals and performance targets and take responsibility for achieving them.
Relationship Management:
The Branch Launch Manager will build strategic relationships throughout the community to recruit and onboard new members. The BLM will also ensure that the branch delivers strong customer service and a positive member experience that supports long-term membership growth and retention.
- Champions the launch and establishment of field operations in Los Angeles, California, including identifying the target population, conducting outreach and marketing activities, and recruiting new member groups into the program.
- Conduct community outreach that generates qualified prospective members and supports program enrollment.
- Support member retention and ensure timely loan renewals.
- .Understands customer needs and resolves issues quickly and effectively.

Financial Management:
- Manage the branch’s loan portfolio growth and quality targets.
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the branch’s short- and long-term portfolio growth and quality goals.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Experience launching or scaling community-based financial services, nonprofit programs, or branch operations in an underserved market is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant professional experience required.
- Two (2) plus years of managing a team.
- Customer-oriented mindset, problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Teamwork and leadership skills.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently.
- Attentive to detail and organized.
- Must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to manage several tasks at one time.
- Valid Driver’s license is required.
- Familiarity with communities across Los Angeles County, including Pico-Union, Boyle Heights, and Long Beach.
