Work Location: New York City (Hybrid). Must Reside in the New York tri-state area within the U.S.

 

Salary: $115,000/yr. - $120,000/yr. Commensurate with experience

Role Summary

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 3–5 years of experience building modern web-based applications who is looking to join our dynamic engineering team. You’ll design, develop, and deliver cross platform solutions, collaborate across product, design, QA, data, and infrastructure, and uphold engineering best practices across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

 

What You’ll Do

 

Engineering & Architecture

 

  • Design and implement modern, scalable applications and services; contribute to solution architecture and technical design reviews.
  • Maintain and evolve internal APIs and integration layers; ensure performance, reliability, and observability.
  • API Development and Integration.
  • Apply GAI’s secure development practices throughout design, implementation, QA, and release; support penetration test remediation and documentation test remediation and documentation.

 

SDLC, Agile Delivery & Quality

 

  • Own features from discovery through release, following secure SDLC and agile practices (sprint planning, estimation, reviews, retros).
  • Champion code quality: conduct code reviews, enforce style guides, promote testability and maintainable design.
  • Champion automation scripts for build, test, deployment, and environment setup; contribute to CI/CD pipelines and source control hygiene‑control hygiene
  • Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and process optimization across teams.

 

Cross Functional Collaboration & Leadership

 

  • Partner with product, design/UX, QA, data, compliance, and operations to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead small initiatives; mentor engineers; help set standards and patterns that raise engineering quality.
  • Collaborate with external partners and platforms; manage technical integrations and ensure delivery quality and timelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. We’re a collaborative team, and sometimes that means stepping outside your usual scope to help with projects or priorities that advance our mission. These “other duties as assigned” are part of how we adapt, innovate, and support one another. As such, additional duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned as needed to meet team and organizational goals.

 

Qualifications

Required

 

  • 3–5 years of professional full stack software engineering experience shipping production applications.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern languages/frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, React , Node) and with APIs, services, and databases.
  • Experience across the full SDLC; strong grasp of agile methodologies and tooling.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, source control (Git/GitHub), and automated testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross functional teams and communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders. ‑functional teams and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

 

Preferred

 

  • Experience with eCommerce platforms and CRM platforms.
  • Exposure to architecture/solution design and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Familiarity with secure API development, DevSecOps tooling, and QA/security test integration.
  • Comfort working with external vendors/partners and platform integrations.

Travel and Office Requirements:

 

  • Attend required in-person quarterly staff meetings in New York City.
  • Hybrid remote/onsite schedule with travel to NYC office and other branch locations outside of NYC as business needs require.
