About the Job
The Shared Service Center Associate will report to the Director of Shared Services. The role will assist with the accounting and reconciliation processes in our Shared Services Center, a team within the Controllership group which handles back-office accounting for all our branches. This role will provide the chance for growth and learning opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily reconciliations in our shared services branch accounting group include reconciling a large volume of loan repayments daily using BlackLine (reconciliation software).
- Ensure integrity of data in Mambu, our loan management information system, through correction of any reconciling items identified during review.
- Investigate returned payments to determine legitimacy of chargeback activity and process updates in Mambu.
- Will commit to learning the BlackLine software to be used for repayment/disbursement reconciliations.
- When needed, assist in training branch staff in reconciliation processes and BlackLine.
- Verify daily loan disbursement activity as per our disbursement partners’ data matches Mambu.
- Prepare journal entries in Mambu as needed.
- Assist other team members in various accounting processes and loan testing as needed.

As such, additional duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned as needed to meet team and organizational goals.
Education/Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience working for a micro-lending institution is a plus.
- Committed team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Proficiency with and interest in technological methods for improving workflows and increasing productivity.
In Person and Travel Requirements:
- Attend required in-person quarterly staff meetings in New York City.
- Hybrid remote/onsite schedule with travel to NYC offices.
