Role Summary
You build the engine behind QuantumDrift.
Our product turns messy real-world cryptographic reality, including repos, endpoints, configs, certs, SBOMs, scans, and inventories, into evidence-backed findings and decision-ready artifacts. Your job is to design and ship the backend systems that make that possible, reliably and securely.
This is not a "just write APIs" role. You will own core services that ingest evidence, run sensor pipelines, compute risk and readiness metrics, and generate durable artifacts that customers can trust.
You will partner closely with ArcQubit Engineering to prototype, build, and ship backend capabilities that define how teams interact with governance, risk, compliance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
Platform and API Engineering

Build core APIs. Design and implement backend APIs that power the QuantumDrift UI, integrations, and automation flows.

Model the domain. Define data models for cryptographic assets, dependencies, findings, evidence, and readiness state.

Multi-tenant foundations. Implement tenant-aware authorization, usage limits, and safe defaults for customer isolation.

Operational excellence. Add observability through structured logs, metrics, and tracing, along with robust error handling for production reliability.
Evidence and Sensor Pipelines

Evidence ingestion. Build secure ingestion pipelines for sensor outputs including repo scanners, crypto inventory tools, SBOMs, cert discovery, and config analyzers.

Deterministic runs. Implement run manifests, job orchestration, and replayability so assessments are traceable and repeatable.

Evidence-backed findings. Ensure findings always reference evidence and are validated against schemas.

Artifact generation. Generate durable artifacts such as reports, exports, and attestations that are validated, versioned, and tamper-evident.
Security and Compliance Engineering

Security-first design. Apply secure coding practices, least-privilege access, and strong input validation.

Auditability. Implement immutable or append-only logging for critical events and evidence chain-of-custody.

Data protection. Handle secrets correctly, encrypt sensitive data, and design for compliance-friendly retention and export.
Product and Technical Collaboration

Backend-to-frontend partnership. Collaborate with UI engineering to deliver fast, predictable APIs and clear contract schemas.

Influence the stack. Help choose tools and architecture for speed, scalability, and security.

Ship iteratively. Prototype quickly, then harden and productionize without losing velocity.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in backend software engineering

Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, or similar)

Experience building and operating APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), including authentication/authorization patterns

Comfortable working with databases (PostgreSQL strongly preferred) and data modeling

Experience with asynchronous processing such as job queues, workers, and event-driven patterns

Strong fundamentals in software reliability including testing, observability, performance, and incident-friendly design
Preferred Qualifications

Experience building security, GRC, or compliance-adjacent platforms such as asset inventory, scanning, SIEM/SOAR integrations, or risk scoring

Familiarity with cryptography concepts (TLS/PKI, key management, crypto libraries) and post-quantum migration basics

Experience with containers and cloud-native deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience with message buses and workflows (NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ) and background job orchestration

Familiarity with SBOM standards and tooling (CycloneDX, SPDX) or similar evidence formats
-
Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS systems

APIs are stable, well-documented, and pleasant for the frontend and integrations to consume
