Position Summary

Forward Edge-AI is seeking two Software Engineering Interns to support development of advanced technical platforms within the Advanced Research & Technology team.

This role will focus on backend development, embedded interface support, and web-based management platform enhancements. Interns will contribute to coding, debugging, testing, and integration of software components supporting secure devices and management systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong programming foundation and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Assist with development of core software platform components
  • Contribute to backend services and API development
  • Support development of web-based management portal features
  • Write, test, and debug code in Python, C, and PHP

 

Web & Interface Development

  • Support frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Assist with integration between frontend and backend services
  • Enhance user interface functionality and performance

 

Integration & Automation

  • Support integration between software components and system interfaces
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to improve development workflows
  • Assist in building scalable and maintainable system components

 

Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Participate in testing and validation of software features
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across the platform
  • Support debugging efforts across backend, frontend, and integration layers

 

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Document development work, updates, and technical processes
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams
  • Participate in team discussions and agile development activities

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Strong programming background
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with C or C-based languages
  • Experience with PHP
  • Web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Understanding of backend and frontend development concepts
  • Familiarity with Linux environments
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid/fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building APIs or backend services
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Exposure to embedded systems or device-level software
  • Experience with debugging tools and development frameworks
  • Interest in secure systems, encryption, or communications platforms
