Job Description:


The Project Manager supports UP Partnership’s Future Ready Bexar County plan by leading and coordinating key initiatives that drive cross-sector collaboration, systems alignment, and measurable progress toward equitable postsecondary and career outcomes for young people.


The Project Manager will manage 1–5 projects at any given time, ensuring each is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities and partner commitments. The first assignment will be the Unified Advising Guide (UAG), working under the Post-Secondary team for approximately 6–12 months to support the successful implementation and scaling of the initiative across districts, youth development organizations, and higher education partners.

 

This is not a direct service position; instead, it is a systems-focused role that enables partners to align practices, coordinate resources, and scale consistent, equitable approaches across Bexar County.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Management & Coordination

  • Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of multiple projects across organizational units and community partners.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, calendars, dashboards, and documentation.
  • Track deliverables, milestones, and risks; provide regular progress updates to leadership and partners.
  • Coordinate cross-functional contributions from staff and partners to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Maintain internal systems for project tracking, reporting, and knowledge management.
  • Apply both Waterfall and Agile methodologies appropriately based on project needs.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of People and Projects to ensure alignment with organizational project management standards.

Partner Engagement & Facilitation

  • Support convenings of school districts, youth development organizations, postsecondary institutions, and other partners.
  • Provide technical and logistical support to collaborative working groups, ensuring partners have the tools and resources needed.
  • Facilitate meetings with clear agendas, documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Document and share lessons learned, best practices, and partner feedback to inform continuous improvement.


Data & Strategy Alignment

  • Collaborate with the Data team to track project KPIs and monitor implementation progress.
  • Analyze outcomes and surface barriers or opportunities for improvement.
  • Align project activities with regional strategies in advising, dual credit, and career-connected pathways.


Operations & Sustainability

  • Support communications that highlight project successes, progress, and impact.
  • Assist in budget tracking, grant deliverables, and reporting for assigned projects.
  • Learn and use Microsoft Planner at an advanced level for project tracking and coordination.
  • Contribute positively to organizational culture and model UP Partnership’s core values of equity, collaboration, and results.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in project management, business, education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-sector or community-based initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and documentation methods.
  • Must secure the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within 18 months of starting the role.
  • Must learn and apply Microsoft Planner (Advanced).
