About the Role

CareSource Military & Veterans (CSMV) is seeking a dynamic Outreach Navigator to serve as a trusted community-based outreach specialist. Navigators will connect with TRICARE-eligible veterans, retirees, and their families, providing education about TRICARE Prime and ensuring they have a smooth path to enrollment. This role is critical to CareSource’s mission of supporting military families with high-quality, culturally competent health care options.

Position Type: Contract, Field-Based

Location: Atlanta, GA & Tampa, FL
Compensation: $35/hour (plus approved travel and event-related expenses)
Reports To: Program Lead, CareSource Military & Veterans (CSMV)


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct community-based outreach at veteran service organizations (VSOs), base activities, and local events to identify TRICARE-eligible individuals.

  • Educate prospective beneficiaries about TRICARE Prime benefits under CareSource.

  • Provide warm handoffs of qualified leads to CSMV enrollment specialists for follow-up.

  • Walk individuals through online resources and answer enrollment-related questions (within non-licensure scope).

  • Build trust with veterans and their families by leveraging cultural fluency, empathy, and professionalism.

  • Accurately capture data using CSMV-approved secure systems and submit weekly activity reports (leads, events, enrollments supported).

  • Represent CSMV at events with consistent branding, professionalism, and compliance to HIPAA and Privacy Act standards.

 


 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Military knowledge or experience strongly preferred (veteran status, military spouse, or prior work with veteran/military communities).

  • Outgoing, charismatic, and comfortable engaging in one-on-one and group settings. Capable of networking: working a room, comfort in initiating a conversation, and determining appropriate conversational pitch, based on the persona engaged.

  • Strong ability to build rapport quickly and drive veterans toward trusted solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Tech-savvy, able to use CSMV-issued laptop/tablet and secure data entry systems.

  • Organized and dependable with the ability to meet weekly lead generation and reporting requirements.

  • Commitment to maintaining strict compliance with all PHI handling and non-licensure activity guidelines.

 


Training & Support

 

  • Navigators will receive a paid onboarding program covering TRICARE CPD benefits, HIPAA, Privacy Act, fraud prevention, compliance, and CSMV processes.

  • Ongoing support from the Program Lead, CSMV IT, and Military Affairs representatives.

  • Tools provided: CSMV-issued apparel, marketing materials, and approved event equipment.

 


 

Performance Expectations

  • Support outreach to thousands of TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries before and throughout the Open Season campaign

  • Ensure all outreach aligns with the CSMV brand, compliance standards, and veteran-first mission.
