My Green Lunch is looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our team as a cook. This position will work primarily in our Line Cook area, but who will also help across the kitchen in all aspects of food prep/portioning. There is a possibility of this role becoming a full time permanent position.

To be successful in this job you need a minimum of 4 years’ experience with hot and cold food preparation. You must excel at teamwork, show attention to detail, and demonstrate strong communication skills.

The position will work from 3am to approximately 12pm, depending on the daily work flow. This position will be expected to work at least every other Sunday.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Assist Kitchen managers with monitoring daily prep production

·         Ensure Safety and Sanitation rules are followed throughout the kitchen

·         Report to and follow Kitchen Managers instructions for hot food production

·         Check food for and ingredients for freshness

·         Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to My Green Lunch recipes, portioning, and serving standards.

·         Clean work areas and take care of leftover food appropriately

·         Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers

Necessary Skills and Requirements:

·         Proven work experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or catering cook for a minimum  of 4 years

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·         Must be able to work quickly and precisely (ability to measure).

·         Ability to absorb and retain information quickly

·         Attention to detail

·         Bilingual in Spanish and English desired

·         Ability to lift 50 pounds

·         Ability to bend, stoop, and raise arms above head on occasion

·         Have a food Handlers Permit, Manager Food Handlers desired but not required
