TeachTown is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments. We are seeking a motivated, deadline-driven individual to join us as a full-time Curriculum Coordinator. The individual will be strong in writing, time-management, communication, and attention to detail; experienced in teaching and writing school-based content (academic, social, behavioral, adaptive, etc.) for students with disabilities; and prepared to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.

All applicants will be required to submit a writing sample with their application.  Examples of writing samples are: curriculum content, Master’s thesis, classroom materials, functional behavior assessments or behavior intervention plans that do not include identifiable student information of any type.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Direct curriculum coordinator projects according to task parameters.

  • Update internal software system with new content on varied schedules across curriculums. An individual curriculum may be updated weekly, monthly, semi-annually, etc.

  • Organize files to ensure all content is present for curriculum updates.

  • Communicate task status to curriculum development team and other stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with editorial directors and curriculum developers to ensure both short-term and long-term production objectives are being met.

  • Copy-edit written content across learning domains (academic, social emotional, adaptive, cognitive, language development, behavioral).

  • Review technology-based content across learning domains (academic, social emotional, adaptive, cognitive, language development, behavioral).

  • Gather and organize state standard data in spreadsheets and use internal software tools to create alignments between state standards and various curriculum products.

  • Working both independently on specific administrative tasks and collaboratively with the development team on broader curriculum task scheduling and execution.

  • Organize files (PDFs, CSVs/Excel spreadsheets, MP3, MP4, etc.) using internal software systems to update website applications.

  • Interface with IT department to troubleshoot technology problems.

 

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required

  • Bachelor’s degree or area of study in a technology- or media-related field a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in education with at least 2 years of experience in working with students with disabilities / in special education

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in using technology systems to manage content, documents, data, and/or student information and/or to provide instruction.

  • Must be able to consistently meet weekly task goals and be deadline-oriented.

  • Must demonstrate strong independence skills in trained tasks and a willingness to learn new tasks as needed.

  • Must be flexible and able to move fluidly from one task to another.

  • Must be able to manage multiple task assignments and maintain awareness of progress against deadlines on all assignments.

  • Must be willing to incorporate constructive feedback into future work tasks.

  • Must be able to produce written product with few to no grammatical errors, typos, etc.

  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have excellent technology skills, including but not limited to Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive.

  • Must have excellent problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to determine when support is needed and actively seek support as appropriate.

  • Must be able to work efficiently and productively in a remote-work environment.

  • Must be able to travel up to once per quarter.

 

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Master’s preferred in Special Education or a related field
