TeachTown is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments. We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Staff Accountant to support our Finance team. This is a fully remote position.
This role will be responsible for supporting the Finance team with analyzing orders, revenue recognition, month-end close tasks, and other tasks as needed.
Job Description:

Serve as the primary point of contact for order processing and revenue recognition activities, including reviewing Salesforce data, creating customer contracts in Sage Intacct, provisioning subscription licenses, maintaining supporting documentation, and validating shipment information for physical products.

Process vendor invoices and ensure expenses are accurately coded to the appropriate general ledger accounts and departments.

Manage employee expense reimbursements through the Concur expense management system, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Apply customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records by matching payments to the appropriate invoices.

Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and other recurring accounting activities.

Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger account analyses.

Utilize Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and internal business systems to support accounting operations and maintain data accuracy.

Assist with annual financial statement audits and respond to requests from external auditors and other stakeholders.

Support special projects and perform ad hoc accounting analyses, reconciliations, and reporting as needed.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

1-2 years of experience in an accounting role

CPA or path to CPA preferred

Working knowledge of Salesforce or a similar CRM tool

Strong data entry and organizational skills

High level of attention to detail (critical)

Proven ability to learn new systems quickly

Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
