Summary

TeachTown is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments.  Our growing team of professionals is seeking a motivated individual to join us at TeachTown as a full-time QA Engineer. This role will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems built on top of the Microsoft .NET development ecosystem.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Carefully examine software requirements and work with the engineering team to understand the scope and expected functionality. Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and feasible. 

  • Ensure test coverage across modules/platforms by reviewing existing test cases & creating new test plans

  • Meticulously test the software to uncover defects, inconsistencies, and issues.

  • Work with QA Lead to develop comprehensive test plans that outline the testing approach, test scenarios, and test cases.

  • Maintain and continuously improve existing test development processes and practices

  • Facilitate development/maintenance of quality control standards/metrics to determine improvement areas and strategies in the overall product development life cycle

  • Make well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous software test issues and determines when software is ready for release, from a testing perspective

  • Provide support to business users as necessary - this includes and is not limited to: triaging production issues, replicating issues, answering questions from support teams on investigations

  • Leverage diverse experience and judgment to plan and accomplish test goals

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degrees in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes 

  • Excellent communication, problem solving skills, and attention to detail

  • 5+ years of experience working in an agile team environment

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance in a SaaS environment

  • 3+ years of experience creating automated tests

  • 1+ years of experience with Angular or other SPA frameworks like React or Vue

  • Thorough knowledge of automated and manual testing concepts and platforms including

    • Experience with Cypress a plus

    • Experience with Watir a plus

    • Experience with Selenium a plus

    • Experience with Atlassian tools a plus ie: Zephyr

  • Demonstrated ability to to work independently, effectively, and productively in a remote- work environment
